I’m a 20 year old and have been suffering from back pain and numbness since the age of 16. My first CT scan in 2009 said “right posterolateral and central broadbased protrusion which was impinging on my thecal sac as well as the central dorsal nerve root”. they tried laser treatments, physiotherapy but nothing worked. September this year i had another CT scan which said “right broadbased posterolateral L5/S1 protrusion which is compressing on the right s1 nerve root disc allows margins abut on the left s1 nerve root”. I was sent to neurosurgeon which I was then told I’m going to have microdiscomonety surgery to ease some pain. At the end of October i had to do an MRI before surgery. Which I was hoping my scan would just come up saying i was fine because i was taken off work and spend most of my time resting, but it was worst. report says "medium size vertebral hemangioma in my L3, L4/L5 starting to protrude and L5/S1 is protruding to the right which is impinging on the right s1 nerve root, disc margins still abut to the left s1 nerve root, also has desiccation and degeneration disease"
what am i in for??
i'm scared as hell
