Hi I and 26 weeks along in my pregnancy and I have been experiencing sharp pains in my lower abdomen mostly on my left side but sometimes it is on both sides and on the top right. it mostly happens with I walk but I dont have to be walking long. They hurt enough to make me grab my stomach and sit down but it takes a little while to get them to go away. So is this something I need to go to the doctor for and do you know whats wrong
I had the same thing with all of my pregnancies. It is very painful, and can be very scary. It is normal. Your uterus is attached to you with two very strong muscles/ligaments. As the uterus grows, it pulls on these on both sides. That is the pain you are feeling. In my 8th month of my last pregnancy, mine were so strong that I could not even walk. I had to crawl to my doctor's office. But they only lasted that day, and they went away. Try not to do anything stressful when the pains are acting up, as this only aggravates them.

You should of course, ALWAYS, be under the watchful eye of your physician. Should you have ANY concerns, at the very least, you can call them on the phone and tell them what is happening and they will advise you. That is what they are there for.

Congratulations on your Blessing! :P
