I have a 3 1/2 year old who for the last few weeks has been eating less and less at all meals except breakfast, which he devours.
He has diarrhea about once a day. He has also had a fever a few times during the last few weeks. When he gets the fever, he has complained about his eyes hurting. The highest the fever has gotten is 103F.
About two months ago he was treated for a urinary tract infection. He still wears a diaper at night "just in case" and when he does urinate during the night it often smells skunky.
Thanks for any ideas. We live in a fairly remote place in Africa and getting to good doctors can be a challenge. We do have a good lab nearby though.
Thanks for your input!

It sounds like his Urinary Tract Infection was not completely treated and has re-surfaced. You should get to some kind of doctor soon.
My son has the same thing. His doc says it is all due to an ear infection, but I am not convinced. He has had fever for 7 days that has been up and down. He complains of eye pain and has had diarrhea for 7 days. Now his fever is much worse. 104. He seems worse and has already had three doses of his antibiotic. I am wondering if you got an answer to your son's issues.
My 20 month old daughter has the same thing. Her pain during urination has resurfaced after 10 days of antibiotics. A friend of mine made note that symptoms of a reaction to pesticides include pain during urination, fever and headaches. My daughter played in a friend's sandbox (unfortunately without her diaper on next to a block fence where pesticides were likely to have been sprayed.) I have no idea how to confirm this or how to treat it. Her urinary test to confirm a bladder infection was negative.
Ideas ... help.

How long should a fever last in kids? My son has had a fever for 3 days. I am treating it with Voltaren 12.5. He is 8 yrs old, and has seen a doctor.
Help! My 3 years old has a bump on her eyeball and her eye is bloodshot red. She's crying in pain right now. Do you know what it is? Should I take her to the hospital?
My son has had pain in his tummy for six days now! The pain moves around and gets worse when he stands up. He was also constipated at the beginning of the six days. Has anyone any ideas what's going on with him?
