I have been on antidepressants for 20 years when my mother died. I have tried and tried and finally got myself off. Still having side effects and really resenting being stuck on this medicine.
My biggest problem is I have NO patience and end up screeming like an id**t at her. I then feel very guilty and feel she would be better off if I was dead.
Is there anything that can help me WITHOUT the terrible side effects????????????????????????
It's very difficult to get off antidepressants. I would talk to your doctor about tappering off them, including possilby switching from a shorter acting anitdepressant to a longer acting one like prozac while you wean from it. When you are completely off the antidepressant, try 5-HTP, look it up online. It is sold along with other supplements at the store. There are generally no side effects and start with a low dose like 50 mg. I find that it really works, the only downside is there is no information on long term use. Also, please go see a therapist who can help you manage stress related to raising a young child, get support from others so you can get breaks if possible. She isn't better off if you were dead, she needs you.
ok listen first and foremost BREATH as parents we all look like idiots yelling at our kids for things they did that were stupid, your not alone and SHE WOULD NOT BE BETTER OFF IF YOU WERE DEAD, you need to pick up the phone and call your doctor and if your doctor wont help you then switch doctors. Sometimes we need medicine to help with issues we have and there is nothing wrong with that atleast you know there is an issue if you are trying to get off the meds and are not functioning well without them then your body has became dependent on them to help you DO NOT TAKE YOURSELF OFF MEDS WITHOUT A DOCTORS HELP. some can slowly be taken away but others can be taken away quickly but if in fact you have been on them 20 years it is something your body has grown accustomed to and you really dont need to take advice from general people! Please call your doctor right away and get some balance in your meds.
