Hi, I had LAVH 6 months ago (age 43) and took a full 10 weeks to recover. I am in excellent health and my only symptom was hip pain that turned out to be a uterine tumor pressing nerves and organs. Upon the 3rd month, I felt great and sex was great. However, it seems like I feel more internal (cervical) pain as time goes by. I was glad to read your post about the scar tissue needing more "attention" in order to help it go away. Thanks for the tip!

I am having these same issues. I had my hysterectomy in July of 2012. I have terrible pain and bloating. I am worried. My primary doctor said it may be lesions. I am not finding much about them though.

I am sorry that you had a terrible experience. I did too. I ended up with a hole in my bladder and six hour surgery. I am having terrible pain in the lower left side as well. I of course have the bladder of a three year old so I am dealing with that. I was told I may have lesions but I am not sure what that means. Good luck to you.

I has a complete hysterectomy 5 months ago. I was feeling pretty good until recently I have been experiencing pain and swelling like crazy. I went to my doctor who now wants to do a cancer screening on me. The numbness is always there too.

Oh I am so happy I found this page. I thought I was going crazy. I did my hysterectomy 1 year ago during a c section because of complications and my life has not been the same. My ovaries and cervix are still intact. I get frequent infections and I am in alot of pain when I have to go to the bathroom and during sex. I cant cope. I am also going through menopause it seems. I am so depressed. I have done alot of tests and have been on alot of meds the last year. I have now been referred to a urologist. I have an appt next Tuesday. I am tired of the meds. I am told this doc also practices natural medicine. I need help. I cant take this anymore, the quality of my life has deteriorated. I am trying to stay positive. Thought I was alone in this. Glad though sad to see that so many persons are out there. The docs keep telling me everything is ok they see nothing but I know its not ok. Will update after my visit.

Thank You I found this helpful..... I am 8 months post hysterectomy and also an RN and wondering if it had something to do with support or possible laceration of the bowel.... I have other CRAZY pains as well and hope life will get better soon... it is sooo very depressing....

I am happy as well to find this website....I have been to the doc (a female) about the pain and she said she was washing windows three days post op. Good for her, but I guess we cannot all recover so soon, well, or it seems at all.... I was also on bedrest with my daughter for 17 weeks (spring and summer 2011) a year before the hysterectomy and still was not fully recovered from that. So I thought perhaps it was just my body and failure to heal... I am an RN so I am educated and know how the body works, but I think this just frustrates me more because I know everything that is NOT working right as well..... I still have my ovaries as well and have had several people tell me I need estrogen because of my extreme mood swings (that I did not have before)... It IS very frustrating and depressing and affecting my quaility of life... I am even scared to get a job in my career of nursing because I do not know if I will be able to tolerate 12 hours on my feet and this breaks my heart......I also have two children I feel like I cannot enjoy to the full extent because of my pain.....Hopefully there is a breakthrough

Hi my name is Kat, i have had endo for 18 years. Had partial Hysterec last may 2012. 2 months after surgery.... Period cramps way down almost by my pubic bone. Nagging, all day cramping.the dr that did my partial last year wanted to send me to pain management! So I never went back. I just 2 months ago got a second opinion. This new Dr told me that he truly believed that I DID NOT have adhesions, and that the one ovary that was left was growing more endometriosis and that is what was causing my cramps. He took out the ovary 2 weeks ago and What do ya think? Low pelvic cramps AGAIN!!!!! 24/7 all day every day! I am too embarrased to go back cause I am sure he will tell me its all in my head!!! Funny thing is... He told me and my husband that he did not see a whole lot of endometriosis or adhesions while operating and the endo he did see but couldnt reach... He left it and said it would burn out!! Im getting so depressed over the cramping stuff! I WANT TO FEEL NORMAL!!! Another funny thing? I should have menopause symptoms like crazy and none!!! Maybe a lil warm at night... Thats it. I stopped wearing patch after first week. SOMEONE HAS TO HELP ME!!! IM WANTING TO JUST GIVE UP ON LIFE.

I had a hysterectomy 10 years ago(age 36)they left my partial left ovary to delay menopause...this failed as I continued to develop more dermoid cysts and endometriosis ...left ovary was removed 4 years ago at 43, another dermoid and endorse again...since then 2 more surgeries for enforcement and early dermoid tissue. It has been suggested as ovarian remnant syndrome...don't care what they call it as now at 47 am back in the same place as I started...horrid lower left pain...feels like another dermoid...WTF so over it..the in between times are great...can't cope with this ...any ideas ???

I also had complication after lap TH and kept ovaries. The pain seems to revolve around my bowel movements. I suppose to see a digestive specialist. I have hemorrhoidal problems and cramping in the anus at times and lower stomach. I only had major bleeding before my surgery. I became so discouraged because most women I talk with say they had no problems healing. I seem to have them all. I have seen my obgyn every month for the past 9 mths finally did another CT scan that showed nothing but I still have pain and cramping. I'm so tired. Maybe time will heal... Maybe. I don't think I can't take another surgery right now

I had a radical abdominal hysterctomy after my abdomen blew up to appear 8 months pregnant. I was in tons if pain, my belly was hard and misshapen, I always felt like I had to pee, and rarely was able to have a BM. A CT Scan revealed a 30cmx30cmx20cm tumor in my right ovary. Not only did the tumor look suspicious, but so did my appendix. If you're having these symptoms, DON'T WAIT! The tumor was a 40 pound, borderline ovarian cancer Stage 1C. We caught mine early...but I would highly encourage you to go and see a specialist, and don't let them tell you it's all in your head! Male Gynies tend to do that when they're baffled. Go to a female gynie...she has the same parts, and will be far more empathetic. Best of luck to you.

i had a hysterectory 3 years ago. for two years i have been living with admonial pain . i have been two the er i have been to a gi doctor. i have been  to my obgyn doctor no one can figure out what is wrong with me .my lower left side of my adomian hurts all the time. i had to pelvic ultrasound they sowed nothing. i had the colonopsey it showed nothing. now they say it could be scar tissue damage, but they not doing anything about it . right now im trying to find another obgyn to see because im not happy with this one. i have telling him this for the past three years . and also since the surgery i now  have bowel issues.
