I have done alothis reading regarding depression from stimulants...my son was showing depressed symptoms almost immediately with both vyvans and Adderall XR...I did some digging and found that depression is more prevalent with long acting stimulants. We changed him to Adderall IR and no more depression! Something to consider...
I'm so glad that you posted this. 20mg of Adderall XR was added to my 450mg go Wellbutrin XL to get me motivated. For some reason I am not motivated at all and I am more sad and depressed than ever. The one thing different for me than you is that I don't ever feel suicidal or like hurting myself. I just feel like I could sit and research things on my computer all day long and not move for hours and hours and hours. Until just before my son gets home from school and just before my husband gets home from work. I force myself to jump up then and make it look like I haven't been sitting and doing nothing all day. I have plenty of things that I need to get organized and put away in my house and I don't want to do any of them. Like folded laundry, stacks of papers that I don't want to file, containers that I still need to look through from when we moved here, steam cleaning my tile floors, cleaning all 4 of my bathrooms, I just stay overwhelmed it seems. I am debating today whether or not to see what it would be like for me to not take my Adderall XR today, My doctor also added Vayacog. So I'm not sure what drug is doing what to me right now. I sort of felt like this before the Vayacog so I'm leaning toward thinking that it may be the Adderall. Anyway, thank you so much for posting that it caused deep depression for you because as I have been searching the internet I haven't been seeing that anyone has felt that way. At least I know this isn't all in my head. I hope that you have found something better for you and that you don't feel bad anymore. Take care.
