I am having a hard time finding an endocrinologist that has any empathy or understanding of me and my problems. The one I am seeing now seems to be clueless.... I would like to find ONE dr that could handle my problems, a good dr that actually cares !! My medical problems are. Addisons Disease (tumor on pituitary gland). Lack of appetite, weight loss. I have 2 herniated disks, a healing pelvic fracture, vertigo that lasts for hours sometimes, recovering from narcotic addiction, history of depression, gastric problems - a lot of stomach pain and diarea. Basically I hurt all the time and have severe fatigue, often just unable to function daily. Would an internal medicine dr be good to see ? I would like to find one good dr to handle my health issues. I'm tired of not being heard and treated like a lab rat. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The only medicine I take is cortef and naproxen and tylenol. Please tell me what you would recommend. I am a 35 year old male.
First you must force your doctor to give you a full blood test to review your hormone readings; the blood test goes from testosterone, all the way to growth hormones (yes even for adults). Take it from there.

I was very lucky as when they finally diagnosed it based on a blood test after 5 years of many (not all) similar symptoms to yourself, I was quickly referred to somebody that knows about it (still not convinced about that, but she knows more than the original Dr.). If your doctor is just a local General Practitioner, ask to be referred to a consultant to speed up the process, because at the end I was just collapsing before it was diagnosed.

Good luck.
