I took the abortion pill 11 days ago and I am still bleeding and having very large clots come out of me. I am not sure if this is normal. I am also getting really bad cramps - which dont always go away with ibuprofen - is this normal? I have never taken the abortion pill before and I am worried. The clots are what scare me the most. They are just so big and its been almost 2 weeks since I had the abortion.

i have my abortion on the 27th of feb 12, the doctor said that i would pass an egg sized clot on the second day and the the bleeding would go off within 5 days. It has been 2 and a half weeks and I'm still spotting with small mucus like clots. Is this normal ? I was 7.6 weeks pregnant when i took the abortion pills. Please help.

I'm now 1 week into it and the first day i bled and lost a bit of tissue/clots then it stopped the next day. Then the 3rd day i woke up with a terrible cramp and heavy bleeding with large clots. I have consistently bled this heavy for a few days and the nurse has told me to expect this for 3-6weeks. Expect painful cramps, back pains and heavy bleeding with a number of large clots. Reading on-line posts etc and seeing what others have said it seems to take AT LEAST a few months to completely stop. x

I had an abortion one week ago, the nurse told me it is normal to bleed up to 3 weeks after, the first week or so is said to be more heavy, but you should have a check up with your GP 3 weeks after the termination. I have been bleeding since the termination and i have lost clots, this is normal and nothing to worry about. However, everybody is different.

I had an abortion on Friday, It's Mon and I'm in so much pain, I can't stand it. I don't regret what I did, I was only 2 weeks gone. But, the pain is still here, I have lots of clots, I actually hate hospitals (I fear them) and really worried, will I have to go to A + E? if this carries on?
I'm on heavier than ever and it's making me weak. the pain starts to go until I take the pill, I'm now on the pill, they told me to start taking the day after my final pills. so I did, But every time I do, about an hour later it's non stop pain all over again. what should I do?

I had my procedure on july 29, I really hate that day, I will give everything to change what I did. Please if you are thinking about abortion don't do it, it is the worst think you can do on your live.

Just because you feel this was not the right decision for you does not mean everyone feels the same way. I had an abortion and it was not a traumatic experience at all. My doctors and partner were (are) all very supportive and my experience was calm and very peaceful. I am happy with my decision although I am still experiencing some uncomfortable symptoms since the procedure was less than a month ago... but nothing worse than a period.

If anyone is considering an abortion, please look into your options and do what is best for you. Don't listen to anyone else. That is how you know you are doing the right thing.... You are in control of your own body and you should feel empowered no matter what decision you make. <3

Yes, I did not bleed much the first week after my surgical abortion. The second week was a mild amount. I am now nearing the end of my third week and I am experiencing more consistent bleeding. Apparently, this is all very normal.

I had an abortion about a month ago, I've had my period already but a bunch of brown stuff is still coming out of me... Idk what to do. I'm only 14 and my parents forced me to have the abortion. Am I alright? Or do I need to see a doctor? /:

I don't tell you "i have a daughter, believe me get an abortion as kids are hell for the first 18 years of their lives" do i?
no! so why do you feel you have the right to tell people not to get an abortion?

Yes it is normal not everyone's experience is the same I have had three abortions in my life and I feel I've made the correct decisions every time..as for me every time was different just like every pregnancy is different ..some ppl bleed heavily for two to three weeks..some may have clots ..some bleed lighty some bleed off and on ..some ppl may not bleed at all..after my last procedure I didn't bleed at all after the first night so yes no bleeding is normal as well

YES. its normal to bleed for upto 6-8 weeks also. But the bleeding should not be very heavy, or associated with pain abdomen, yellowish foul smelling discharge etc. However u still need to get an ultrasound done to find out if lots of tissue is left behind which might require a D&C procedure
