Hi everyone, i am 16 years old. I have been very overweight in the past and have tried to lose the fat for years. Due to stress and home issues i am now 8 stone ( 110 pounds ) or just above 50 KG. I am 5 foot 3 inches and i just do not understand. I eat around 1500 calories a day. Do lots of walking and squats daily, yet i have chunky ( fat thighs) and rather abit of belly fat. It really upsets me seeing the belly fat rolls ( they just ruin my figure ). I would never stop myself from eating nor take laxitives, yet i am very unahppy. I look bigger than want i want.
Is my weight a healthy weight and how do i firm my stomach yet go down the scales. ( i wish to become a photographer followed with self modeling for surrealism yet my body is too wobbly in places!)
Thank you

Hello charley,
your body mass index is 19.5 which means your weight is normal - if anything, you're closer to the lower limit than the upper one. So generally, there is no need for you to lose weight, instead what you need is an exercise program that will help you strengthen your muscles, especially in the body areas you think are too flabby. Take a look at the video section here, it has several trainings that target your abdominal muscles and thighs: https://www.steadyhealth.com/videos/
Changing diet alone doesn’t work for losing weight from just one part of your body, exercise, on the other hand, can focus on specific muscles and, with a healthy diet, can help you shape your body. One thing you need to take into account also is that you’re still not completely done with puberty – ‘baby fat’ tends to be mainly around stomach and thigh area. Some, if not all of it, will go away naturally once puberty is over.
