I am an amputee and have used Gaberpentin for pain relief which did not work and now Pregabalin (400mg twice a day) but my nerve pain is returning and I am using Oramorph to control pain. I wondered if there were any other amputees out there and what they use to control nerve pain? I am supposed to be going to the pain relief clinic very soon and want to go armed with options. It is likely they will give me a nerve block but I do not know if it is the best option.
I also use Naproxen, Paracetamol MST and Oramorph I was on Amiltriptaline but they took me off it because I am on Seroxat for depression and you cannot take both.
Any help appreciated thank you. :(
I am also an amputee and my pain is usually when the barometric temperatures change. I have been on gabatentin and take 600mg in the morning, 600 with my lunch and 600 with my supper and then before I go to bed I take 1800mg. also. Along with this I am on elavil 25mg. before I go to bed. I still have problem with pain at times and then I take tylenol 4's and if that does not help then I will take oxycodone. My amputation happened in March of 2000. Could you tell me if you have had any relief from your meds as I still have problems with pain. I was on naproxen some years back and also the amitriptaline too. I am just looking for an answer to control the pain. I also use many types of rubs and they may work once or twice and then not at all.
Any help will be appreciated very much as sometimes like tonight it is 3:47 and I cannot sleep due to pain. I am looking for some answers.
