I had this for years so know how he feels. I used a canesten steroid and fungal cream for about two years which was great but when my doctor found out she wasn't best pleased. She told me to dry the area and use vaseline. I wasn't convinced and spoke with a pharmacist who also recommended this course of action. I tried it and it worked for the first couple of days but then we were back to square one - inflammation, itching, the works. I came across a product on the internet called salveation by mama nature and decided to give it a go. It is natural and contains beeswax, calendula and lavender. I use it morning and night and it works just as well as my steroid/fungal cream did. I can apply this every day and would recommend it to anybody.

I am 45 and have had this miserable itch since I was 18 years old. Won't even tell you what all I have tried to get rid of it. Most solutions disolve by the end of the day or the first time you go to the bathroom and have to wipe. I just have to tell someone because I would have paid thousands for a cure. I have found that DESTIN cream (used on baby butts to prevent rash) does the job. It is thick and keeps all the moisture away. I use a small dab each morning and almost forgotten that I ever had the itch. You won't be disappointed! I am so happy! Just had to share with someone. Good Luck.

my anal keeps going with an on and off itch i get into bed it itches i get up it stops, so can it itch overnight without actually having pinworms? and if it is pinworms can you kill them with no medicine at all just like cream and stuff?

After 7+ years of itching, sleepless nights, hours spent washing drying itching washing drying and searching for solutions I finally made an appointment with a colorectal doctor - he diagnosed the issue in less than 5 minutes- discharge caused by internal hemorrhoids. Within 10 minutes he had "banded" the first of three (a non-painful process - other than the discomfort of having something up your butt for 30 seconds). Within 24 hours I had a 95% reduction in the desire to itch!
I probably spent $200 on creams and lotions each year before then. Would love to slap the dermatologist that barely looked at me and insisted I take pinworm pills (this happened twice) which are very bad for your liver. All those hours of sleep loss, the stress of tensing my body as I scratched - I've probably lost several years off my life. For the first time in so long it doesn't hurt to go to the bathroom. All the little cuts I had are healing - I have started using wet wipes and continuing to wash with warm water (no soap!) and was prescribed "clotrimazole and betamethasone dipropionate cream" to help with the healing. Its the first time I've been able to put on an ointment (have had all sorts of other prescriptions from dermatologists) without having to itch like crazy. I've also noticed that eczema on the rest of my body has calmed down significantly as well. I've had the second hemmroid banded, am taking fiber supplements, and have one more to go. I am hoping/positive for a full recovery and stopping of the itch but even if there is always a little I can LIVE with this. - before I was almost suicidal it sucked so bad. I suffered this itching for many years, it's absolutly horriable. And yogart, yes it's as simple as yogart in your diet once a day to start with then you can taper off, after it stops, but it may come back if you completily quit.I have a cup of yogart at least once a week, as a regular fix. You will be simply amazed, especially if you tried as many things as I did, and suffered for so long...YES it's that simple,as yogart in your diet.

it works had the same problem for almost six months. apply Yogurt directly to itch with a q-tip for relief. Also had to eat quite a bit of azo yeast pills to help control itch..IT WAS DRIVING ME CRAZY.. I was so freaked out i also went to cvs and bought Pin-X Took a drink of it to just make sure it wasn't worms. But I read this and went and bought "Loratadine" generic claritin at K_mart. DIdnt think it would work but after 5 days IT's Gone.. THank God and THank YOU.
