Soooo I'm a 16 year old dude and I'm depressed.... I don't like going to places anymore and I'm getting myself kicked out of my high school so I don't have to deal with school anymore...just wanna got o home school. Either way I'm so unhappy and I was wondering if I could get medication from my doctor without my parents knowing? I dislike my parents and I don't share anything with them we are very far and I can't tell them anything... If I told them they would just tell me to get on my knees and pray... I don't believe in God anymore long story but please no one tell me to do that... I used to smoke weed but not cause I was depressed cause it was fun lol but I stopped now. Could my weed use cause weird things happening in my brain and I'm unhappy?! Anyways I haven't been happy for 2 years....and I just want to know if my doctor would help me with medication... no one judge me by saying "drugs can't fix your problems" I'm not planning on telling anyone how I feel so the only option is meds...

Hi SIS,

I reply to this and to the other thread...

I live in the Netherlands so I don't know what possibilities there are where you live to talk to someone about your anxiety/depression/worries. You could ask in the "Emotional and Mental Stress" section of this forum for some help on techniques to ease yourself down and tips about people you can go to to talk about your situation.

Other than that I can think of the following:

- Anyone in your family, an aunt, uncle, niece or anyone you trust.

- Some adult at your school. I understand you left school, but maybe there is a person there who is willing to talk with you or help you find people to talk with

-Sounds weird, but you could even try the pastor/vicar/whatever it's called of the local church. You don't believe anymore, but most are willing to hear your story and will not tell further.

- Your doctor. Don't just ask for anti-depressants, but talk to him about what is bothering you, as he will probably refuse to prescribe them without any good reason anyway. He can give advice on how to deal with your feelings and bring you into contact with other people that can help you. The bill for anti-depressants will probably end up at your home, so I think it is not easy to hide it.

- An institution near you that is meant to help young people (as I said, we have them in the Netherlands, don't know about the US)

- call a help line, you should have them in the US. They can probably help you further.

Don't be discouraged if you get a door slammed in your face, in the end you will find someone who is willing to help you. In the meantime... take a long walk (1 hour) every day, you probably feel a bit better afterwards. When you feel anxious, talk to yourself (aloud or in silence, doesn't matter) "I am strong like an ox and everything is gonna be alright"  or look on the internet for 'mantras to stop anxiety'. Another one is "I want to feel good. I intend to feel good and I refuse to allow any negative thoughts in". There are others, you will find one that fits you.

This is really as far as I can help you. Remember, you have the strength to overcome this and you are worth it. Good luck and take care.

I see people those things talking to themselves and I think it's pointless :((( I'm not willing to do any of those but I will try thank you. I'm not close to anyone that's the problem. The only people that know is my uncle in jail who I send letters to and you XDDD I haven't left the school I'm just not trying so they can kick me out. And I'm really only focusing on getting medical help :( So they're just gonna leave me unhappy? That's F***ed up ughhhh Well thank you I'll try to do these things thanks for the help!
