can i become pregnant at 48 still having montly periods but irregular :-( :'(

Yes, you can. Even if your periods are irregular, it means you are still ovulating and can therefore become pregnant. Periods are a result of ovulation. At ovulation the egg is released from an ovary, and during ovulation your uterus is getting ready for a fertilized egg. Uterine lining is getting thicker, preparing to admit the fertilized egg. If fertilization doesn’t occur, the uterine lining is being shed from the uterus through the vagina and we call this period.

Even if you are approaching menopause you are still able to get pregnant as you are shedding the uterine lining. This is why it is important that you use contraceptives or be real careful if you are not trying to get pregnant.
