I had done a stress test recently without any medications or chemicals being injected . My doc just asked me to do the treadmill till I get exhausted. I could feel my heart beat rapidly and there was also a pinching pain on my tummy for few hours after it. Usually, I deal with stress with an effective massage therapy like the one at Dynamic Physiotherapy in Mississauga and the results are amazing. I just wanted to know prior if my stress levels are normal before I go for any such treatments. Is there any suggestions regarding this?

I think you are talking about a different kind of stress. A treadmill stress test is to check the workings of your heart and you are usually hooked up to electronic monitors during the test.

I had one after heart surgery many years ago. They had me on the treadmill with a nurse standing behind me with a cattle prod to keep me from slacking off. It began at a slow speed and level. Every three minutes it tilted up and sped up. I lasted a little over 10 minutes. they had a certain target heart rate they wanted and I didn't reach it before I got tired and quit.

If there is some physical reason you can't do the treadmill then they inject some chemicals to fool your body into thinking you ran a hundred miles or so and make you out of breath and panting like dog on a hot day.

I don't like the injection idea because you are trapped into being as out of breath and uncomfortable as the injection is going to make you with no relief. On the treadmill you can stop when enough is enough.
