Hello, folks. I have a breast cancer and my doctor has recently introduced Taxol into my therapy. However, it seems I have an allergy to this drug. Is there anyone allergic to Taxol who managed to tolerate these symptoms and continued with the therapy? I would be grateful for this piece of info. Thanks.
Hello. Allergic reactions are very common. Almost 40% of patients experience one of the allergic reactions. Those are: hives, itching, difficult breathing, swelling, etc. Tshese symptoms are usually well controlled by pre-medication. In that case, people continue with this chemo treatment. However, in smaller number this is not possible. In that case, they stop with using Taxol. You should discuss about this with your oncologist. I hope everything will be all right.
