If so then how? what is the best way to taper? slow? any details, info, advice etc i would much appreciate it. Also what comfort meds can one take to help withdrawals?. Am currently at 1.8mg of subutex after being on it for nearly 4 years. Am not in withdrawal yet but would like any tips and experience from anybody who has come off this.
Thank you!!!!.....
Thank you!!!!.....
I know that there are a lot of people here on the forums who have successfully quit so I can tell you that you would not be the first, so that's good and hopefully encouraging to you go help quit! The best way to do this is to talk to a doctor about it to make sure that you are withdrawing from the drug properly, which means that you should probably taper, cope with symptoms, then taper further. I think the doctor will be able to help you with that. Keep us posted on your progress, okay?
Am in the same boat..Am on 1mgs of Subutex and been on Subutex for 5 years now..
If anyone can advice and give tips on how to minimize withdrawals i.e restless legs, insomnia, depression etc i would much appreciate that.

hi, I am taking since 2 years subutex and I started with 8 mg, I took for a long time 6 mg and since 2 months I am tapering from there. I am taking currently 1.8 mg. Till now I havent felt the reductions at all, on the contrary I am feeling good with every passing day. I did really slow taper, every week half a mg. And after 2 mg, I started 1.8 mg and then 1.6 and then 1.4 and so on...
with what mg did u start originally? did u taper fast so that u feel such symptoms or once u went under 2 mg u started having those wd feelings? because as I said till now I havent felt any of these symptoms or anything bad while I was tapering. can u sleep at night? i am taking seroquel at night, it puts me in 45 minutes to sleep and I sleep over 10 hours, u can try this and the other thing u can try is Clonodine, blood pressure medicine which is getting used in opiod wds...

I have been on suboxone for five years . Best way to get off the stuff is to take smaller an smaller doses . Get the film strip and cut it down smaller each day. Have your doctor prescribe you some seroquel. This way you can sleep through most of your withdraws.
The key is to stay asleep as much as possible. When you are awake be sure and eat foods like.... Meats, eggs , milk , juice . Stay hydrated. Take lots of cold showers. Seroquel and back to bed. You will kick sub, in about 2 weeks. " you can do it "

How long should you wait to take a percocet after taking a subutex? I have to have dental work and want to make sure I can take it.
How do I cope while withdrawing from 10 years of subutex use? Prescribed. I jumped from 2 mg on day 5. Any suggestions? Is this in my head? My legs are killing me every day.
