Hi aprilhaylee,
thank you so much for this amazing detailed review of your process. I'm based in Brisbane too, and i was considering doing as well with Doctor Georgina as well, as this review is giving me the confidence to move forward. ! have a few questions, how long took you recover, to be back to normal life? How long take to heal? It was to painful or is was something after a few days you were good? Are you still happy with the decision of making it after one year? Thank you

Hello - I am 3 years post op and am more miserable than ever. One side feels super thick and burns. I’m having trouble sleeping right now due to the discomfort. What is an email I can reach you at? Would love to talk further! I am considering Dr Alter for a revision

I wasn’t planning to have this done… Woke up to it done to me. My doc was doing a D&C & in the initial appt I mentioned 1 little piece of my labia caused discomfort sometimes. She said there was some discoloration & she’d remove that small part when doing the D&C. I’m expecting a 1-2” incision. Woke up to 2 x 5” incisions from anus to urethra, post-op instructions: ice & no sex for 2 weeks. I was so swollen I didn’t know there were 2 incisions until my 1 week post op appt where she told me min walking, no heavy lifting, & no sex for 1 more week. The 1st week was horrible, after the 2nd week I could walk normally. 10 weeks post op now: minimal pain- tender when wiping, tho sometimes I have aching. Sex is very painful, feel bruised. Hoping that goes away soon.

I’m so sorry this is happening… i am 4 years post op and cannot sleep due to the burning pain sensation in my left labia. I’ve been told it’s possibly an entrapped nerve in scar tissue? If you don’t feel any burning or nerve pains you should be in the clear after a while! I’m so traumatized by this and have lost all of my luster for life and my confidence.

I had my surgery with Doctor Konrat 6 weeks ago. I went in at 9am and was out by 12. Surgery went smoothly.
The first couple of days after I felt a burning feeling and I guess more of a pressure feeling. After that things just got easier. I wasn’t in extreme pain at all. I followed her instructions for taking a week off and taking it easy and medication to take after.
There was a bit swelling that I was worried about but now at 6 weeks it’s gone everything looks great!
Removing the stitches at 2 weeks was little painful but didn’t take very long.
Overall I’m really happy with the result and wish I had it done sooner.

Hi, I had a labiaplasty and the doctor recommended CHR and she ended up removing all the minora from one side by the clitoris including the skin that attaches to it. I'm 10+weeks out and in pain. Any suggestions on meds I could try?

Hello, Tina. Here are some general suggestions for managing post-operative pain:
1. Over-the-counter pain relievers: Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as ibuprofen or naproxen, can help reduce pain and inflammation. Follow the recommended dosage and guidelines provided by your doctor or as indicated on the medication package.
2. Prescription pain medications: If over-the-counter pain relievers are not sufficient, your doctor may prescribe stronger pain medications for a limited period. Follow the prescribed dosage and usage instructions carefully.
3. Topical treatments: Topical numbing creams or ointments containing lidocaine may help relieve localized pain. Discuss with your doctor if these options are appropriate for you.
4. Cold compress: Applying a cold compress or ice pack wrapped in a clean cloth to the area can help reduce swelling and provide temporary pain relief. Be sure to use a barrier, like the cloth, to prevent direct contact with the skin.
5. Proper hygiene: Keep the surgical area clean and follow any specific instructions provided by your doctor regarding wound care. Avoid harsh soaps or irritants and gently pat the area dry after cleansing.
Remember to contact your doctor if you experience severe or worsening pain, excessive swelling, signs of infection (such as redness, warmth, or pus), or any other concerning symptoms.

Hi aprilhaylee,
Thank you so much for your in depth message about your experience. May I ask how your experience has been a year after your surgery? Would you still recommend Georgina? Many thanks and I hope to hear from you soon.

This was really helpful thank you! Both Dr Konrat and Belt are on my lists. Q - did you find the twilight sedation enough? I'm nervous about it not being a general anaesthetic. and are you happy with your results now?
