Anyone tried the lip reduction surgery - part 2

guest, just had lip reduction, it didn't hurt except for when be used the scissors to cut 10 slices in my lips.I'm bandaged right now, it hurt slightly all night right after the surgery, but I took pain peels and antibiotics and today the pain stop.The doc wants me to go see him tomorrow to remove the stitches which is weird because I thought it would take longer, he said the swelling would go down in 5 days which I hope because I have to go to work soon. he charged me 2000 for both top and bottom, I should have bargained for my upper lip which is smaller than my lower lip and asked for 1800 instead, but I was too excited because at first they told me 2500.Anyways I went see a Vietnamese doctor in Houston, I heard his assistance tell me that my left side was a little bigger which pissed me off and he told her to shush, but I'm hoping he will give me small lips like I hope because my lips were the size of Texas and everytime I talked to someone I felt my lips were my whole face, if it doesn' t come out even I will so go back and he better fix it.Anyways I had told him before my surgery that my right side of my face slightly bigger whether it' s my eyes or nose.So that's why he sucked out more fat on the right side, but if it's slight off then I won't mind.I already had 2 other surgeries done with this guy, when I was 18 that was 7 years ago and he did a great job, everything look so natural, that's the only reason why I went back to him.He's good but very old.To stop the swelling the day after surgery use listerine day and night since you can' t brush your teeth, put a bowl of cold water in the freezer for 30 minutes so it can be cold cold , dip a cloth in the cold water, wring and put on your face, then morning time do the same but with hot water and then put hydrogen peroxide on the stiches, let dry for 5 minutes, bandage back up, don't forget ointment every now and then to keep those lips moisturize.We live in a w anorld where looks matter no matter what anyone says.If you aren' t happy with how you look do what you have to do so you can have more confidence and be happier with

Years ago I wanted bigger lips. Went to NYC to a Doctor and had my lips injected. It was a BIG mistake. Years later they started hanging down on one side.

Fast forward to today....I had them reduced 1 month ago, still hangs down on one side - a little disappointed. Cost was $3,700.
made an appointment with doctor in Nov. He did one side good, but the side that hung down a lot, still hangs down a little. Not trying to be a perfectionist, but at that cost, I don't believe it should hang like it does. Otheres have left messages about their recovery wasn't for 3 months. Hoping after 3 months that I see better results.

Has anyone gotten the procedure in NYC? I am also considering having this done and live in NYC.  I am a Hispanic male ( i appear White to some people) who has big lips. I would like to reduce them to a normal size.

Who would you suggest in NYC for having lip reduction surgery?  Also, how big were your lips in comparison to now?  Are you happy with the results?

I'm trying to get this surgery done too.  I saw Dr. Michael Jones in NYC three weeks ago. I think I might go with him.

i just had my lip reduction  done in nyc  three weeks ago, it was an horrible experience emotionally and everything. but am glad i get through it, my lips was swollen like a duck for a week well now it look better but swollen a little bit am waiting for the last result.

I WENT TO SEE DR  TORNABLE, IN UP TOWN MANHATTAN  MADISON PLASTIC SURGERY THATS THE NAME , THE SWELLING GOES DOWN IN LIKE OVER A WEEKS ANY WAY YOU CAN GO FOR CONSULTATION AND SEE MAY BE YOU LIKE  HIS TALKING, ANYWAY AM MARUF IF HE CARES TO ASK THE BLACK GUY

Hey guys it's me "MoomooGIRL" yes.....two years later.I had forgotten I posted on this site. Sorry. And reason I am back is that yes I plan on getting another lip reduction. Sigh......where do I begin? For starters the surgery I got in Houston obviously did not turn out the way I wanted it to be. But I blame no one but myself for not speaking to more than one doctor and for rushing into it because I had this sense of urgency to look beautiful.For starters there was a language barrier between that doctor and I.And I would not recommend anyone to go to him because he's like 70 years old?My upper lip is oval shaped and rises to the top and my bottom lip was huge.He reduced only a little bit and both my upper and lower lip are the same size now.It sucks.The healing was an emotional period because I couldn't really speak or eat what I wanted.I had to lie to coworkers that I ran into the door.I work at a job that requires me to talk alot.So the results weren't what I wanted and when I went back for him to correct it I was shot down.He pretty much refused even though he promised he would fix it if I didn't like it.This shithead doctors will tell you anything but then after the fact they want to do away with you and want nothing more to do with you.When I had went back the second time and got rejected my world shattered.I stared at my big ugly lips and thought I would have to look at this for another year or so before I could save more money to get another reduction.I was angry and an emotional wreck. It didn't help that my then boyfriend and now ex. was very unsupportive the whole drive there..Fact is no matter how much research you do you are at the mercy of the person that is about to do your surgery.I'm over it now.So I plan to not rush into it and explain to who ever I go see for this lip reduction exactly what I want.I want to reshape my upper lip.Oh btw I forgot to mention that when I did speak to the doctor the 2nd time, the one that did my surgery, he offered to stick an implant in my upper lip to "change the shape".I wanted to cry myself a river.R u serious? I'm trying to reduce my lips not make the sh*t bigger.So anyways this doctor Lam guy in Dallas.I thought about going see him but my gut instinct tells me he is all talk and no action.Do you guys know he patrols online websites to see if anyone speaks unfavorably of him and if they do he calls them a liar and threatens them?I was reading a review one of his patients had on him and it wasn't favorable and he threatened her.I was like r u f*****g serious?He always came off as all talk no action.If you look at the picture of his patient one with the upper lip issue.You can tell in the after picture that he had her curl up her lips to make it look smaller and "reshaped" which f**k even I can do.So he seems to me like a snakeoils salesman.I hope I'm wrong.I still may go see him if I can't find anyone else.If anyone knows of a good doctor in the south please let me know.So many doctors are f*****g incompetence and don't want to give the patient what they ask for but rather do what they want.Sorry this blog is all over the place.

oh yeah and my lips are chapped now all the time.And the incision is visible.

Hi..I hope this helps anyone considering lip reduction surgery. Obviously, you feel strongly about changing the size of your lips if you actually want to go through with suegery. I was at that point and went for consultation and then through with surgery. Initially, The reduction wasnt significantly different enough considering the cost and agony of swollen lips for a couple of weeks. So I went a second time at no cost. I loved the new size of my lips and they took on a new shape which was beautiful. However, seven years later my lips are big again but not as big as they were before the surgery. They seem larger than they initially were because I had gotten so use to the smaller size. So now I can hardly speak without feeling like they're getting in the way. So in conclusion, the results do not seem to be permanent. I had them reduced in 2004, went again in 2005 for a do over and now they are almost the original size before sugery. Its such a bummer because I hate to go through surgery again knowing the results aren't permanent. Although I am considering it because I truly hate the size of my lips!!!

Who did you go see "DisappointedinATL"?I always thought this would have been a permanent reduction.How were you able to bypass a fee the 2nd trip?
