I'm a 17 year old female. I've been experiencing very odd symptoms, which I have been dismissing as hormonal changes (I started birth control & stopped in the past few months) but something tells me this isn't just hormonal. I have experienced swollen painless bumps on my groin twice, extreme fatigue, dry patch on the roof of my mouth, very terrible joint pain, random sweating, full feeling in stomach. I have even gotten at least 3 shades paler. I am half Spanish so I'm naturally dark. But I can see veins on my breasts, hands & fingers. Today was what caused me to research. I noticed two red/purple bruise looking patches on my cheek. I looked closely, & it actually looked like little dots underneath, like a burst blood vessel. Out of nowhere. I didn't think anything of it. Then I weighed myself later like I always do, & it said I was 100 pounds. Yesterday I was 105. I thought the scale was wrong. What I'm asking is, does this sound like acute leukemia? I know it could be a million things but I have this weird feeling that it might just be something serious. My father's grandmother is a leukemia survivor . I definitely don't want to just stress for no reason but anything is possible. I do plan on going to the doctor & getting checked out. But what do you all think? Thanks!

A simple blood test will tell you. There are 3 stages to typical Leukemia, Chronic, Acute and then Blast Crisis. The middle letter of the acronym is the type of Leukemia you may have. M is for Myleogenis, or L for Lymphocytic. They are the types of blood cell that has the cancer.

If you have Leukemia then probably your Spleen (under your left ribs) and your Liver (way up under your right robs) will be enlarged and sensitive to pressure. You'll feel them when you sit down and put pressure on you abdominal area that's it.By the time I reached my Blast Crises I had lost half of my 200lb body weight. Then I died. It was beautiful! Dying was the most wonderful thing that has ever happened to me.If you go positive on your blood test get to MD Anderson Cancer Clinic in Houston, Texas. They are the best. Get into a trial for a new drug and your care is free. I went into a trial protocol for Tasigna called AMN-107. I was on it for 5 years.Don't be afraid. Good luck, TaosGuy
