Hello! Last month I have discovered that I have diabetes. I am not taking insulin, just some drugs. I am following diet plan, but I have heard that I should not eat grapes, because it is full of sugar. I think that this has sense, but still I want to check this with you. I have heard similar stories for bananas, too. Thank you!

Hello! I have to tell you that you should eat five portions of fresh vegetables and fruits per a day. It is not true that you should not eat grapes and bananas. These fruits have more sugar then some other fruits, but that does not mean that you should not eat it. If you eat fruits and vegetables every day you will avoid a sudden rise in blood glucose levels.

Hi,
The thing is that grapes are very healthy and they are really full of vitamins, minerals and fiber. These are all good for your diabetes diet, so I don’t know who told you about this but in my opinion he or she was very wrong. The thing is that you can’t overeat yourself with anything when you have diabetes. You need to watch almost every calorie and be moderate at everything. What do you eat usually? Can you tell us a bit about your diet? Fruit contains sugar but it contains a lot of vitamins and minerals so it should be in your daily diet plan to keep your body healthy and strong.

I hope this was helpful.
