Hi, my father is 56 years old and he is suffering from stomach ulcer and heartburn caused by that. His doctor prescribed him Prilosec and his is taking it for quite long time. I would like to know are there serious side effects on long term use of Prilosec. Thank you very much.
Hi, as many other medications Prilosec also has its side effects if you are using it for longer period of time. Fortunately these side effects are not serious except if someone is allergic on Prilosec. Side effects which this medication may cause are nausea, vomiting, headache and gas.Don't worry.
I can tell you that I have been through hell since I took that nasty stuff. It made me feel anxious, gave me a lump in my throat, phlem , ect. ect . If you can take it without side effects then do so, but nobody warned me and I thought I was choking to death and ended up in the ER. So if you start to feel like sh@* and paranoid then you are not really allergic, but you should stop taking it and ask you doctor why they didn't warn you to avoid the big mess it causes. I could go into great detail, but you will probably learn this lesson the hard way.
