Hi, i had my banding procedure done on the 18-8-17. It was a day procedure, i was put under and everything went well. I was in alot of pain and it was very discomforting. They gave me something and the pain finally subsided. The doctor said to me, i will feel the urge to want to go to the toilet. 2hrs being at home and i waddled to the bathroom and couldnt stop straining, took me 10 mins to pull myself together and wipe away the tears so painful and i used wet ones to wipe, there was about 2 tablespoons of blood but no need to panic. I was given the painkiller targin and was only allowed to take them every 12 hrs so in-between just mixed panadol and ibuprofen which worked but ya still feel pain no matter how much ya take. Three days in and i was not wanting to go toilet I knew it was bad because they dont want you constipating yourself. I had to take a stool softner and gentle laxative so it didnt hurt when i went. I took a week off work but i needed just over 2 weeks so im at the week and 3 days mark and the pain has gone down alot. I dont know if the hemaroid has come off but when i go it feels like a burning feeling so that could mean its an open wound. I haven't been out of the house coz i cant walk without there being pain and i want to be fully recovered for when i go back to work next week. So i am doin as little as possible so not to aggrevate the area. I dont know if this helps anyone, but if it does great. Hope all goes well with everyone who has to go thru this
I had been suffering with pain for months waiting for my appointment to go see my doctor. I had one hemorrhoid banded 2 weeks ago. Of course the pain has been awful at times. I'm still waiting for relief, but it feels like it's never going to come. I always have either burning or pressure going on down there.
I wish the doctors would be more honest about recovery. Saying that the procedure is painless and recovery is quick is not true and makes me worry about how long it is taking me to get well.
ANyway, I appreciate your post. I hope you're feeling well today!
thank you. :)
Im glad i could help. I actually ended up going for emergency surgery the day i went back to work. I thought i was ok to go back in, everything was ok until i went to the toilet. On the 5th of September i was back on the operating table for a second banding and this time 3 had came out. I was in pain but not as bad as the first time. The doc said the band had slipped off causing the clot to basically overload not good. This time i stayed over night. The pain when i came out of anesthesia was the same as last time but i was ready for it so i could handle it. I wasn't allowed to be given any panadol so im glad i could bare the pain. I was out of work again for 2 weeks. This time i was smarter i took laxatives and softeners the next day and they helped so much but the pressure was a b***h to deal with. The pain will go away its taken a month for me but i was told by the doc ill have to keep taking laxatives for awhile. I take them every second day because i cant get backed up. Make sure you dont get constipated. Dont worry the pain will go away. It will get easier. Take care of yourself and keep hydrated.
