My father got diagnosis of benign faciculations few months ago. He had symptoms of fasciculations, such as muscle vibrations, tremors, and stiffness. I wonder if that is common for this kind of disorder. If there is anyone with the same experience, I would like to hear more about benign fasciculations. I would be thankful, because I am so frightened of any kind of disease.

There is really no need to worry so much about your father. There are many people in this world suffering of the same. Mine stiffness started to occur after a bout of flu
or virus symptoms. They were involving severe headaches and vomiting for one week. Currently, my fasciculations are profuse, all over my body, but that is something I have to live with. They are fast at times and stop, which knows to be annoying. Sometimes, fasciculations appears as slow and rhythmic, but actually, I can always feel them. I used to have the fluctuating breathing problem, which is very uncharacteristic of ALS. I had a real problem, because that was benign condition, which shares some characteristic with a very serious disease. I see that is not case with your father, but if it happens, do not let his benign problem ruin his life through unnecessary worry and stress.

I also have a diagnosis of Benign Fasciculations. A neurologist first ruled out ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) by doing a nerve conduction study. I have found that Magnesium helps, but I am just now starting to supplement with B12, Resveratol and C0Q10 as well as a good multivitamine/mineral supplement.  I too developed this condition after a really bad cold/cough/fever one year ago. Sometimes the twitches are worse than others, so I'm starting a log to find out what helps. I've also started taking 1tsp per meal of Unrefined, Extra Virgin Coconut Oil after reading about someone with ALS reversing his symptoms with it. It feeds the neurons that have become resistant to glucose in a diabetic-like condition. There seems to be some chatter on these blogs about a blood sugar imbalance as a cause of twitching, and my A1C value was borderline.  I'm praying for healing too. Jesus Christ is the ultimate physician.
