Hello, folks. My brother had some accident where he injured his pelvis. However, as a result there is also bladder injury. I would like to know something more about this condition. Is this serious? What should I expect? I would appreciate if someone could answer me more about this. Thanks you in advance.

Hello, there. Pelvic fractures usually have bladder injury as a result. If the rupture of bladder is intraperitoneal, then surgery is required. Urine can leak into the abdominal cavity which is dangerous. Extraperitoneal ruptures are often treated surgically. Bones should also be repositioned. Your brother will wear catheter for a while. In any case, this is a complicated condition, so you must be patient. I hope everything will be all right. Good luck!
