I have a question regarding how much flow is necessary to count as a period. My dr is not very helpful and says anything including spotting counts as a cycle.
I am now 8 days late. I do not have any bleeding externally, nothing even when wiping. But I do when checking mucus find a pinkish tint. But it is not enough to even show when I wipe. I have read about implantation bleeding, but it says its pretty rare.
I have not been feeling well, but do not know of anything that could have altered my cycle. I am just curious how long I should wait before testing, r even if there is grounds for testing as my dr seems to suggest otherwise.

Do one now. Do another one in 2 weeks if the first one comes back negative. Many things can cause your period to come late: stress, sudden weight gain or loss, illness, etc.
I agree with what hoseclamps has posted. I think that your best bet is to just do a pregnancy test for peace of mind and then do another to make sure you're okay. Does that make sense to you?
