For a year or so, I have had recurring incidents where my mind seems to "skip a beat."  Usually when  I am reading, but occasionally when I am watching video.  At first I assumed that I was merely drowsy, but if I try to nap, sleep does not come.  Lately I have noticed that my dog is aware of these episodes.  He frequently lays in my lap and appears to be sleeping, but will jerk awake, turn and stare at me when such a skip occurs.

I am a 71 year old male, morbidly obese (290# 5'8"), hypertensive, and diabetic.  In addition to a number of medications for blood pressure and diabetes, I have taken fluoxetine for 25 years for adult ADD.
