Hi,
I was due for my periods a week ago. But I am getting this really small brown/red discharge which usually and quickly is followed by my periods.
This time its been more than a week and I am not getting my periods but this discharge. (I am sure I am not pregnant).
What could the problem be?
Thank you.
Jenny

hi i kinda have the same problem. i missed my first period and then the Dr. told me if i missed a second on to come back .. well I missed the second one and today was the day it should have ended and i was surprised to find just a bit of brownish liquid, could this mean I'm pregnant.. as I am getting fatter and have all the symptoms of pregnancy but all the topics on this site don't say anything about if it means pregnancy or not.. if someone could rely and help me I'd be really happy.. I need to know whats wrong,
to the both of you, talk to your doctor about Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, its a condition where the eggs you produce are trapped by follicles on the ovaries, i have it and i experience a brownish to red discharge, it's completely normal as this happens or can happen around the time you usually should get your period.
the symptoms are also weight gain, loss of regular period, hair growth (on the chest usually around you areola, inner thighs and around the lips of your mouth), also abdomanal pain or nausea, lack of sex drive, loss of apetite or nausea when eating or after meals.
unfortunatly it can also prevent further pregnancy without IVF but it is still recomended you practise safe sex as it is possible to conceive but it is very rare.
the condition can be picked up via external and internal ultrasound.
