I'm 21, my tonsils were cryptic, large and absolutely HORRID for the last 7 months. I'm very "picky" (or moreso "pick-aty") with my body lol so I made them waaayyy worse. I looked online for the last month terrified of what I was about to put myself through once my ENT suggested removing them. Like seriously shaking scared. But I'm 2 days post op (also my birthday). First day I drank as much as I could (everything does tastes pretty weird outside of water) and ate a lot of ice chips. I stomached down one potato. 2nd day I was being stubborn, did not drink how I was supposed to and began to bleed. Went to ER, they gave me fluids for my dehydration. I drunk more when I got home, and fully hydrated my throats felt GREAT. I ate some ramen, the warm soup made me feel 110% even better. Then I ate red beans and oxtails so we KNOW I was okay at this point. Staying on top of the medication and staying hydrated is basically going to be the winner of this race. It's not as painful as I expected, like at all.
Bye bye nasty sponges, I am 2 days post op removing my tonsils
