I will be 60 in June of this year. I had me knee scoped 1 yr. ago, and in 6 mo. the miniscus died. I have bone on bone in my knee.
Ortho Dr. recommends full knee replacement. I read about the procedure and recovery and it does not seem to be a simple walk in the park.
I do rec. cortisone injections now, approx. 1 every 3 - 4 mo.
I got an injection yesterday afternoon and wow, by 11 pm I got a headache from hell ! This is the 1st time I have experienced that.
Today I am eating x strength Tylenol and chillaxing for the day. I also have some hot flashes.
After this headache subsides the relief of the knee pain will be worth it.
My knee issue has certainly interferred with my daily activities. I am only able to stand on it for about 1 hr. at a time.
Thanks for the legacy Mom of these great artritis genes. LOL o.O

Unfortuneitly i was driving when this happen and its my right knee so it took forever to get back home. shortly there after i got a headache that felt like my skull would spit into pieces and was extremely naussea.thank goodness your post made me feel better knowing this is a side effect and that I will survive in a few days. thanks again
I have had an unusually bad headache for the past 3 days after two injections, one in my shoulder and another in my hand under the index finger. Also some nausea and hot flashes, which I didn't connect with the shots until reading the experiences of others. Thanks for your input on this one fellow suffferers.
I associate cortisone with headaches....and I am not prone to headaches!
