I went to the doctor and he told me I had an bacterial vagionus and my sex partner and I been having sex quite alot before I knew. We had unprotected sex so do you think he can get it too? I heard men can get it but show no symptoms. Can I pass it to him if we had unprotected sex? And what about oral sex?

It is not known what causes bacterial vaginosis. It represents a change in the natural balance of the vagina. There are a lot of bacteria inside vagina and when the bad bacteria overgrow, bacterial vaginosis occur and all the accompanied symptoms like the bad odor and excessive discharge.
It is not known what causes this change. Bacterial vaginosis is not commonly spread during sex and between sexual partners. Even if your partner gets treated, it doesn’t mean you won’t get the infection again.
You won’t transmit it in oral sex either.
