Hello everyone! I recently discovered Elimination diet. A friend of mine who knows about my food sensitivities sent me a link few months ago. I never get the chance to open that link since I was very busy the day she sent it. Later I completely forgot. The other day I was cleaning up my emails and I saw an unread one. I remembered I forgot to check out the diet she sent me, so I opened the link. Ever since then, I am super exited about this diet. I cant wait to try it. There is just one thing I am not sure about. Do I really need to consult with a doctor before starting this diet? Cause I’d rather not.

Hello. I never tried this diet since I don’t have any food problems, but I know a girl that did. She did not consult with her doctor before starting with this diet. I don’t know if that is a wise decision, but I believe many people can successfully undertake an elimination diet without consulting with a doctor.

Of course, if you have any concerns, the best idea would be to go. I have the number of my doctor so I can call her on her cell for these types of things. If you have the number of yours, he/she will probably be able to tell you everything you need to know in a minute or two. That way you don’t have to go.

I’m afraid that’s not a good idea. Trying any diet without consulting with a doctor is not recommended, but trying Elimination diet without it is A BAD IDEA. Believe me.

You should be specially careful with this diet. If there is a food that you know can cause you serious symptoms, you should not try it. Remember you should never test any food that caused you serious health problems in the past, without consulting with your doctor first. So if you ever been in a situation where your throat is swelling because of the peanut butter (or anything) you ate, you would be crazy to try again even a slice of it.
