I had the Mirena for one month and ten days, fell right out in a clot. It was too early to tell if it was doing anything, will not get another, painful and expensive.

I have had mine for 5 yrs (7-10-10) had it replace on 10-10-15 due to forgetting about it but my stomach started cramping... So I had it replace that day and it was PAINFUL but I had no issues with it in the 5 yrs prior.. So I was told to come back in 2 weeks to have checked cause my other was to far up only way to check it was thru ultra sound.. But any who... 3 days before my appt. hubby and I had tried to have sex so he didn't feel anything then (kiddo interrupted) but the next day we had sex after the kids went t school and while cleaning up I could feel the strings and the bottom of the iud. I called my dr didn't get a call back till later that nite in mean time it was bugging me so I took it out.. I went to my appt 3 days later and they were unable to put t back in or replace it till after I have a period... Now I haven't had one in over 5yrs.. 3 day after it came out I started to bleed BAD... And the cramps got worse, felt like the flu.. By 5 days the pain stopped by t the bleeding would come and go. Well tonite I thought I was done until I went potty before bed an BRIGHT RED BLOOD was present... And clots.. Freaked me out for real. I hope I stop bleeding soon. But I was told I have to wait till after my next period to try and get it replaced again... But I did not gain weight in the past 5 yrs that I could blame the Mirana for an don't not crave sweets like I have read many times...

Yes!! I was sent back to work the same day and I work in a warehouse. I was in sooo much pain it was almost as bad as labor pain. Not the same feeling of pain but the intensity was. It also lasted for a few days. Now I've had Mirena for almost a year and in constant pain, not as severe but a little cramp was always present and last night I found my Mirena outside of my uterus. I was horrified and now I'm awake at 3am and in pain and nauseated.

I have had the mirena before, I had it in for 3 years no problem and I loved it, my husband never felt it either. I got it again after having our second child and after 3 months of it being in it fell out on its own. I went to the restroom fine then got up to go to bed and as I walked I felt as if something were poking me from the inside, went back to the restroom to check and it was out and had fallen out upside down. I don't know if you always feel it when it comes out but I know I did. I think every experience is different

Anyone who mentioned an alternative birth control to hormones should check out LadyComp fertility computer. It works by collecting your data (basal body temp every morning) and period history to tell you when to have sex (green light) and when not to have sex (red light)..it literally will give you a red, yellow, or green light every morning! My baby is 7mos, mines came out just now my period came on after not having a period in two months I have gained almost 60 pounds I have never been 283 my highest was 220 I swell alot. I was hurting so bad . well now I have to go back to the doctor and get the pill

When I got my mirena put in the first time on the way home I had cramps, had to get out of the car to order dinner, felt like a had to pre and couldn't move, then blood gushes down my legs, and I don't mean like period I mean like full on blood like I weed. I had to get it replaced 1.5 years later and had to have day surgery to get it removed and replaced because it shifted and 3 gynos could t see the string.

I had the mirena for 5 yrs after my first child, I got it removed and re-inserted after 5th yr. first time around I had periods consistently now I haven't had a period and it's been about 4 months now.. My question is have u guys ever worried that you were pregnant jus recently I've had a visit feeling in the back of my throat but nothing ever comes up jus the feeling and out of now where my belly has gotten bigger but I can't tell if it's fat or a belly bump (my BF said its kind of round) I'm jus worried even though I am going to make an appointment because I took a pharmacy test and it said no but I may need to see a doctor to know for sure, just a weird feeling

I just got Mirena inserted yesterday and I had very bad cramps. this morning however that had mostly subsided and right now I'm feeling almost back to 100%

My first Mirena fell out after a month, the second one fell out after three months, not going to bother trying again. I know a few people that swear by them but obviously they don't suit me, luckily I wasn't using it as a contraceptive.
