Weed has a variety of heavy metals in it that will take a while to detox. I agree that it's a detox reaction.

I quit 4 days ago after smoking hard for 2 years and I am definitely tired all day now. I think people like us need to keep discussions going so that others can learn from it. I also have a cloudy head and have also had headaches... not good... whoever said there aren't withdrawals should be shot!

This is somewhat true. However, everyone is different in their recovery. I wouldn't rule out diet as you stated. Tiredness can also be a side effect withdrawal. After all, smoking during adolescent years will decrease your learning ability and cognitive process. So don't always listen to what people say. Everyone is different.

Hi, I am 35, smoked since I was 12. I've quit a year ago and went back to it but this time I feel I'm done with MJ. I quit because it's time! Marijuana is now a drug and not JUST A PLANT. There are many chemicals used to grow MJ now, so I am done. A year ago when I first quit, it was the worst feelings ever in my entire life. I was challenged mentally, I would wake up very shaky in the morning and it will continue through out the day. Also I kept thinking I had medical issues when I did not. I started drinking tea, valerian root tea, seven blossom tea or Passion flower tea. After a weak of discomfort things started to mellow down but I did not feel completely fine until 30 days plus. Don't smoke cigarettes, it does not help but worsen the situation as you are trying to get of the toxins the cigarette will only block that and prolong the symptoms. Stay healthy my friends. PS - MJ you were great in the 90's

I'm exhausted and it's been 5 weeks. I have felt like there is something wrong with me. After reading other responses I feel encouraged that it's just withdrawal. Smoked heavy for ten years. Yay for us!

A year too late, but I'm feeling the same way .. understand you were going through withdrawals and a bit irritable but that person is right- it is your diet. Please don't tell me it's not, unless smoking weed (more like the Tobacco a long with it) has given you cancer, it is most definitely your diet. i was smoking bongs 24/7 and it destroyed my appetite, I quit last week and I've never felt so tired in my life, because I was clearly malnaurished, hence the feeling of being so exhausted and feeling as though I could just sleep on the spot- there's nothing more to it bro.

Thank you for the post. I was very worried I smoked for literally 20+ years and decided to quit after I smoked some weed laced with meth and it screwed me up, So I got upset and stop buying from anybody. The more I read about pot and how the good stuff is grown the more I realize there is impurities that I dont want in my body... In the future Ill switch to shatter or something else "if i decide to smoke again" but for now Im gonna give myself a year or so with out it so I can be more motivated.

I started smoking pot to alliviate my depression anger and my need to commit crimes against my fellow man, It man me lazy and it made me creative in a positive way. Ill always love you MJ.

Ive been abused as a child in ways I will not discribe but you can imagine that I suffered life long injuries from it. Im now 40 ive come to terms with it and its has made me stronger.

But this constant tiredness sucks. When I was smoking pot I never moved anyway so I never felt tired. Now Im, more motivated and I literally have to nap 4 hours for every 6 hours im up.

I do however love the fantastic dreams Ive been having. I had one dream where I was a princess of a space starship castle "the same one from Voltron Defenders of the Universe" Im a dood in real life but heck when you are in a dream you dont rememebr you are a dood, nor do you care you are a female. In fact I feel like I have reobtained something I have long surpressed due to depression, smoking weed, and being lazy. Thanks for this post it gave me hope and allowed me to realize im not dying, just detoxing.
