Can we cure LADA with meds for diabetes?

Someone at work was just told that she has Latent Autoimmune Diabetes of Adulthood or LADA. I am not sure what it does but it does sound serious and all encompassing. Another co-worker mentioned that she is now on diabetes meds. Can these cure Latent Autoimmune Diabetes of Adulthood? Please clarify!
