I recently got a kidney stone around February. I was dealing with a lot of back pain and then a UTI then a fever. I was very sick for over a month to my urologist did cytoscopy and pulled it out. Now I'm starting to have all of the same symptoms again. I'm scared and don't know what to do

I feel so sorry for you all in the USA who are on this site and don't have medical insurance. I'm in the UK and had a bad episode of pain in my kidneys. I went to the A&E dept of my local hospital, was seen within 30 minutes, had urinalysis and a MRI scan within 90 minutes, was admitted and had laser lithotripsy that night. I was discharged the next day - problem over.....God bless the NHS!

Quoted from the article on kidney stones published by the American Urological Association: "Currently mortality from stone disease is rare, although there is still a significant rate (28%) of renal deterioration with certain stone types."

Also I would like to add give been with kidneystones for 18yrs and am a male can't count how many stones give passed thru the yrs the biggest 1 without surgery was as big as a skittle urologist could not believe it. The pains are unbareable in deed it sucks to pheon for a pain killer Duladid/morphine is my 1st thought but over the years to keep my bills down I had to learn how to deal with the pain. Very very hard thing to do.
