Okay so I know this is late but same here. Did you notice that it happens in high anxiety/stress situations? Or it doesn’t matter? Because I tend to do better during the day also versus at night. I always make sure to drink and more recently, smoking helps as well. I was only 20 when it started and I was a heavy drinker before that. I wonder what this is!!?? I’m worried I have a secondary issues such as diabetes like the other comments.

I’m glad I saw this update! I have just started having similar symptoms and I used to drink plenty. I do have panic attacks and it seems like being in public, not sleeping, and specifically drinking at night without eating or even with will cause this for me. It’s super frustrating but I’ve learned drinking early with a snack is the best option. I hope your wife has figured out a similar routine for herself. Thank you for posting this it was really necessary when searching for symptoms that don’t lead right to appendicitis and cancer/tumors.

I hope you see this. I went through basically the same symptoms and I’ve learned it’s usually in periods of high stress it happens more. I personally have anxiety and panic attacks but not regularly. One day I had two shots and threw up my lunch from 6/7 hours before. On that note, I’ve found drinking during the day, anything that’s not bubbly, making sure you eat complex carbs beforehand such as bread, as well as staying away from large crowds or any other triggers that might make you uncomfortable/anxious. I’ve also found if you don’t hold your breath while taking a drink or shot it helps to not “shock” your system when the taste hits, and your body has more time to prepare. But in general you’ll find what works for you, as someone in hospitality and politics I totally understand the importance of “being able to drink” but sometimes it’s worth it to not throw up all night haha. Also don’t overdose on water! It’s easier to do when you’re drinking.
