Hi, I have a fifty seven years old mother. She had a problem with her left eye. The problem was cataract. She underwent the surgery. It seemed that everything was fine. But now she is putting up with a great deal of pain. Doctors said a lot of things but I didn't pay much of attention to their explanations. I was just thinking about my mother and what could have gone wrong. She isn't taking any medicine. I hope you can give me the answer to this question.
Hi, I am terribly sorry to hear about the pain your mother is dealing with. Some of my acquaintances went trough the cataract surgery. Fortunately everything turned up fine for them. One of the things that might have gone wrong during the operation is the damage of the eye nerve. Also, conditions during the operation may not have been sterile causing infection. The thing is that the ophthalmologist should have prescribed some post operative medication. I suggest you take your mother to see another ophthalmologist and ask him for his opinion. If you present him with your mother's condition I am sure that he will be able to help her.
