Okay a little background. I'm 20 years old. I have been on birth control for about a year now. My periods are regular timing wise but they vary in heaviness. Same with PMS symptoms.
But these last two months have been polar opposites. Last month I got HORRIBLE PMS, worse than I've ever had, nausea and cramping and severe breast pain (which I don't usually get) and then my period was decently heavy. This month however, my PMS symptoms were how they normal are - sore breasts, light cramping etc. But my period was extremely light. Not even a pink or red, but just a brown occasional discharge. Enough to use a panty liner, but that was it.
So my question is why there would be such a difference from month to month. They always vary, but this was the most extreme change I have seen between.
Any answers would be helpful!
Mine have always varied too, some months heavier others a bit lighter, sometimes with awful pain sometimes no pain at all. It's a real guessing game. Recently I had one that was so light, so different to anything I'd had before, I got a bit worried. I decided to see if I had the same again and I haven't. I was told that sometimes nature throws us an odd period, even if we've never had a strange one before, it can happen. I don't know why or how but I'd say there is no major cause for alarm. However, perhaps if it keeps happening you'd be wise to get a few checks done to make sure all is okay.
