My husband has also had a CABG recently. Now while trying to recover he suffers with cp,some episodes are severe!-we are at a loss as to why & the Drs are NO HELP! He was always very active and now can hardly do anything-what kind of quality of life is this...well after reading ur post you have opened up our eyes to a better understanding as to how to cope better... or a better understanding at least. I just had quadruple bypass 5 days ago...there is some pain still but mostly numb and itching around incisions...other than that it is all good...feel a hell of a lot better than the day I had the heart attack...

my husband had 2 open heart surg. in an 8mo period. Now=about yr later he now suffers with severe chest pain when he has arms raised like he is holding something at chest level. As day goes on towards evening all he has to do is few steps, pick up something and brings on severe chest pain. Pain so severe he almost passes out, BP greater than 220/110. GP & cardiologist seem stumped! after reading posts from pts post-op I now realize this isnt an isolated incident at all, but a common & recurring issue post open heart. They should do a survey into these pts & try to look into this more if not just to reassure pts with these complaints that it IS A REAL SYMPTOM & REAL PROBLEM!!! forgot, he has tried using NTG but doesnt help,
