Alright, so here's the deal. My girlfriend and I have been dating for just over 4 1/2 years now. We've been sexually active for about 3 of those years. We lost our virginity to each other, and have been in a completely monogamous relationship since day one. Neither of us have ever had any other sex partners, only each other. So, she went to get her regular gyno checkup at the doctor's last week, and they said everything looked normal, no problems. Right? Wrong. Few days later, she got a call back saying she tested positive for Chlamydia...
HUH??! How is this even possible? So I went and got tested the other day, and I'm still waiting on the results. Now, according to the doctor, and virtually every freaking site out there, Chlamydia is strictly transmitted via intercourse, and can not be passed any other way. I know that I have not been unfaithful, and I know her, and she has not been unfaithful either. And trust me, if you knew her like I do, you'd know she wouldn't do that. We've already had a serious sit down talk about it, and I believe that she is being honest, and I know I am as well.
So here we both remain, completely confused as to how this couldve possibly happened. There has GOT to be another way that the virus can be passed. Maybe a false positive test? Misdiagnosis? SOMETHING!
So I ask to anyone who might be able to shed some light here, or maybe you've even been in a similar situation. How in the world could two completely monogamous people with no prior sex partners contract a disease that apparently can only be passed via intercourse with an infected person?? Help!

Get her retested of course! If she still tests positive you can rid yourself of your total denial issues regarding her fidelity

Man, I feel you on this one. I am in the same situation. Please let me know if you find anything out. There's just no way, it's gotta be something else.

I too had the same problem. I too searched and searched trying to find answers. My boyfriend swore up and down, he even said he was negative. But I had another test done to rule out mistakes, and it came back positive. I then asked... how is it possible I am positive and he was negative...answer? If he got treated with antibiotics for ANYTHING else, then he got treated. He probably never knew, and he probably never thought you would find out either, so he will deny, deny, deny and make u doubt... but truth is, if u got routine exams, or he's your first, or whatever the case may be, then....he cheated. Yes, that means he had sexual contact with someone else. And yes, it is the OnLY way you can get it. And no, he is NOT telling the truth...probably never will.
