I had those too and I just squeezed them like squeezing a blackhead. The greasy stuff came out and it didn't hurt any more than doing a blackhead. I think I used tweezers because I couldn't get my fingernails on them. It's been a few years and they haven't come back.

Hi Pam, no there was no scabbing and no bleeding. It was almost like squeezing a pimple but without the pain or blood. The "crisco" inside just came out slowly as if through a pin hole that I couldn't see. I didn't try to make it come out fast when I saw how it was coming out in such a thin line. It was so easy I went looking for all the ones I could find.

The other day I found a tool in a drug store that is made for removing blackheads, that works great. I think it might work on those too but I don't have any now. It's about 3 inches long and it has a loop on both ends that you press down over the blackhead. One end is larger than the other and I think the larger one might be perfect for the deposits.

Hi, I have the same thing and I did schedule the procedure _ Laser surgery and I am SCARED and have no idea weather it helps  me or not. According to the doc they may come back, which make me feel absolutely confused. And I already paid ahead TOTAL amount of 500$. It was just yesterday and I am really not sure WHAT to do for the number of reasons , like ( throwing money away just because  this nasty cholesterol deposit MAY come back??? The procedure itself takes 5 min according the doctor -OPHTALMOLOGY SURG. but he promise me to look horrible after the procedure for AT LEAST 2 weeks!!!!! PLEASE, somebody who knows something about LASER REMOVAL procedure for cholesterol deposit , help!!! I need advice . BTW, I did checked my CHl levels , the result is  my total is optimal, " good" one is optimal as well and the " bad one" is a bit higher. No medication prescribed. THANK<3

Hi- I was going to have my Zanthelasma removed last year surgically, but I decided not to. Only because I wasn't comfortable with that Dr. in the consult.

I have 4 Zanthelasma spots. One on each upper and lower eyelids.

I have read that applying Garlic in the am and pm for 5 min each for 3 days will burn the Zanthelasma off. SEVERAL people say this works. I'm going to try it tomorrow. You will have a scab for a week, but who cares. Its better then the Zanthelasma, You have to be careful when doing anything close to your eyes. Some people use needles and poke the Zanthelasma out. I don't think that is the best option, especially when its close to the eye. You can also scar your skin by using a needle.

My Zanthelasma is inherited. My father also has it. My cholesterol is good and all blood work is fine. I did notice when I ate more veggies and fruits and less fatty food, the Zanthelasma spots lessened and faded a bit. I had them for 10 years now, so I'm going to try the Garlic on them. And YES, most insurance will pay to get the Zanthelasma removed, because its a health issue (high fat content in blood) or if it is close to your eye, it can limit your visibility. If your Dermatologist or DR says insurance wont pay for it, go to another Dr that will submit it to insurance. Also you can buy DermaBlend makeup online or at ULTA (in the USA) and it covers scars. Its suppose to work well on Zanthelasma. Its around $30.00 US. I'm going to buy some this week and use it after I try the garlic remedy. Good Luck.

I am trying the wart remover now. Yesterday was my first day I used it. You have to be careful when applying around your eyes and only apply to the xantheloma area. It burned for a few minutes and then it turn white like a crust. I left it on all night. I woke up this morning and washed my face, removed the crusty white and it is like burning my skin. It doesn't hurt has a dark discoloration but I think it is going to work just fine. I am going to keep using it for the rest of the week to see what happens. Will check back in when this week is out to let you know how its coming.

What can also really help reduce cholesterol is Fish Oil capsules. Really helped reduce my cholesterol and we don't eat junk food and do eat lots of fresh fruit and veg. My problem is being stuck behind a computer so lack of exercise doesn't help!

Since taking 2 Fish Oil capsules each day my cholesterol has reduced a lot.

If you use the freezing procedure, would it not damage your eyes, as I have one on each eye, in the corners of the upper lids
