I had a LEEP procedure done for the 2nd time a week and a half ago. The first time was fast, painless and uneventful. This time it hurt, took longer and I had very bad pain in my bottom that whole day and night. I couldn't even sit down (I had to lay on my side) The next day I felt fine but have had a tan discharge since. I know that is normal. Here is my concern. I have a Nuva Ring for birthcontrol. When I removed my NuvaRing yesterday a huge chunk of something (skin, scab, I don't know?) came out with it. It was at least the size of a finger. In all, 3 pieces that size ended up coming out. I've had some mild cramping since then also. Should I be concerned or is this just part of the healing process? Tomorrow will be the 11th day since the procedure. Has anyone else had these chunks?
I have had the same thing and was wondering if it was normal!! It really shocked me.

I've had a couple colposcopy biopsies (one of which was last week). I get weird chunks afterward as well, like dark wet tissue paper. I mentioned this to a nurse, and she said that's normal along with the spotting and "coffee ground"-like discharge. I can't help but wonder how the chunks are made though. It would give me some piece of mind.

I had the same thing chunky discharge. It is normal per my doctor. However, I am wondering how many people have had this procedure with the nuvaring.

I had a leep done last Friday but my doctor told me that I would have to be off the Nuvoring for a month following the procedure! I am wondering why your doctor didn't tell you the same?

I just had something gross come out of me today. I had the leep 3 days ago and so far, not too heavy of discharge. Today I had what looked like a big glob of tissue come out and it scared the bejeazies out of me. After looking at other posts and blogs it seems like this is relatively normal. Wish the doc would have warned me about that one!

Oh, thank goodness I found this website. I'm 32 and I had a hysteroscopy and LEEP done 5 days ago, and yesterday I experienced a strange vaginal discharge. Looked like coffee grounds wrapped in skin about the size of my pinky, ewww, I know it sounds gross, but I can't think of any other way to discribe it (never seen anything like it). My doctor didn't mention this side effect. More has come out today and I was getting ready to call my doctor but decided to research it first. I couldn't find any mention of this side effect on the medical websites, so I was glad when I found this site. It eases my mind to know that this happens to other women and their doctors tell them it's normal. I'm going to give it a couple more days and see if the discharge goes away.

I had the leep cone done two weeks ago and I am doing more than just a discharge. i have had bleeding like a normal period. I have gone thru 56 pads in two weeks. Has anyone else had this happen to them? Also I am having a greenish discharge with a bit of an odor. Wondering if this is normal. the nurse at the doctors office doesn't know. i asked her How am I suppose to know what to look for then? Has anyone had tissue to come out that looked like it could be a miscarriage?

Yes! I have had the same issues. The third day after my LEEP, I had expressed a large (tan/brown) chunk of skin. The texture was like a peach pit, but in the shape of a wad of paper. Two days later (today) I expressed a massive chunk again... THIS time it was bloody and about three times the size of the first one (to me looked like some sort of miscarriage). It was so large the pad couldn't even hold it.

I am on my period, so that is the reason behind the blood. But my flow is extremely heavy. I have moderate cramping, but I'm not sure if that is to do with my period, or the surgery.

I can see a few of us have had the same experience. But I don't know if my most recent issue is common.

I had the Leep procedure done 3 days ago and also experienced the chunk of Beige discharge... Does this only happen once? Or has anyone else experienced these 'chunks' several times over the course of their healing process?

i had the same thing a HUGE piece of something it was yellow-ish. before then i had smaller pieces come out. but ever since the big piece came out i haven't had anymore. i had really bad cramp after as well though. my doctor didn't schedule a follow-up which i thought was kind of strange. i'm going to call him and set up another appointment. i was just looking on here to see if anyone has had the same problems as me. i don't have the ring though.

I had the LEEP done, nearly 11 days ago, for the second time. The first time, I had no problems...no bleeding but some coffee grind discharge. This time, wow. Totally different experience. It hurt like crazy the day of and into the next day, lots of bloody discharge, coffee grinds again, but this time, it started happening almost immeadately. I bleed for 9 days, then just when it slowed down to a trickle, my period came. My period has been very crampy with very heavy bleeding, and there is large chunks of something coming out too. Smaller than my pinky, kinda looks like wadded up tissue. scary! I was not expecting that at all. I can't believe how much harder it was on me this time around. I'm glad I found this, when the chunks started coming out, I was freaked out.

I just googled this. Today is Friday and I had the LEEP procedure done on Tuesday. I had a huge piece of something just kinda 'fall out' and it freaked me out so I had to google it. Good ol' Google. What would I do without you? I hope this is normal, and that I don't experience anything more weird. Since it's Friday I won't really be able to call my OBGYN till Monday. Thanks for all the posts.

i had a leep 10 days ago. day 3, as i was going to pee, i ended up pushing out a huge piece of dead tissue, kinda what i'd picture the shape of the inside of my vagina looking like if a layer of that were to come off but i'm not sure why this would happen? perhaps the acetic acid killed a layer of cells all throughout my vagina?? i'm pretty sure the dr. squirted a bunch of it in there, not just swabbed it on my cervix... sooo gross... and it happened at work... almost lost it... my dr. hadn't warned me about any of this. starting today (day 10) i'm bleeding fresh red blood, not a lot yet, but it just started, and i'm cramping. gonna call the dr. first thing tomorrow just in case. wow, being a woman is fantastic... haha! thanks for all the posts ladies, definitely helping to ease my worries about what's going on.

i had similar experiences. one question I have is about bloating. I have gained a few pounds recently, about 5, but i am extremely bloated since the procedure. It's been 6 days. If you all experienced this bloating, when did yours go away? Did anything make it better? It's really uncomfortable.
