I need some advice on circumcision. I had it done about five days ago now and the glans are still fairly sore to touch. It makes wearing pants fairly uncomfortable right now. It appears to be slightly bruised on closure inspection and I was wondering how long it takes for the bruising to go, completely? Is the best way to do it just to suck it up and deal with the friction between the bruised part and my underwear until it goes away itself?

Hi Guest,

You've answered your own question, just suck it up and deal with it.

It's normal.  Your glans has been protected your entire life and the nerves are not used to touching things.  How long it takes to become less sensitive varies.

There may be some bruising from the circumcision.  It should be improving after 5 days and likely clear within another week or so.

No two circumcisions are the same.

That's the answer I was afraid of. Damned sensitivity.

It won't last forever. Intact guys that have retracted their foreskins have the same thing happen to them.

Sweet. Cause I'm finding it currently easier to not wear pants at this point. They just seem to provoke bleeding and snagging of stitches.

A 14 months old baby was circumcised 5 days ago and is still red and sore. We were using polysporin, but doesn't seem to be helping much. Any solutions?
