My sis has 9 months old son and he since the first month of his life has this ugly clotted blood veins in an eye-the left one. I have visited them yesterday and this clotted blood veins seems to have grown a bit. It is not that big in fact but it is still there under his eyelashes and I think he couldn't be having a normal vision. Anyway is this a dangerous thing or would it gone on its own as my sis says?
This clotted blood veins in the left eye of your nephew might easily be what is called capillary hemangioma but the practice is that for a while it stays that way for usually it goes away on its own and it might take a while like up to his 4th birthday and important is to take him to the regular medical controls regarding this clotted blood veins he has for in some cases if the things goes wrong it might affect his vision for basically this is an benign tumor that if not vanish finally could be treated with corticosteroids, or even with some steroid injection but there are also some surgical options such as laser or incision surgery.
