I've had those bumps ever since I was a kid, and I am not really bothered by them, because I got them before I was sexually active. About four years ago, I noticed I had those same sorts of bumps on my lips (on my face), but they can only be seen if I stretch the skin a part. I think it's just one of those weird body things.

I have had little bumps since I was young enough to pay attention to my vagina. They are tiny, really unnoticeable unless you pull the skin taunt- they do not hurt, they do not itch- they just are there.

When I went to my Gyno, I was nervous to ask her about them- it turns out that is exactly what it should look like for me. She says that it is a normal occurrence, and it is not something to worry over.

i did a little bit of research and i found out that they were to do with the ends of oversensitive nerves. LOTS of people have them including myself and its honestly nothing to worry about :-)

So this is what happened to me. About 2 1/2 to 3 months ago I noticed that on both sides of my inner labia I had rows of small white bumps. Some of them were the size of a pinhead, others were bigger but none were bigger than a mm. They stayed the same for about a month, then I tried to scrape them off. They came right off almost painlessly, it wasn't a liquid that came out, just a hard ball. Then the area bled and got really red. The next day the bumps were back. I started to get really worried and couldn't leave them alone. They started to look a little infected and I worried that maybe I had HPV or herpes or something. So at the very end of December, I got a really bad fever and my immune system was really week. I even got cold soars really bad on my lip and had to see a doctor about that. Anyway that's when I started to notice the bumps on my vagina were getting worse and spreading. Some of the bumps now were on the inside of the white rows of bumps and these ones were red, still the looked nothing like ANY photo I'd seen online of STD's. I immediately went to see a doctor and right away she told me I had warts. I was so scared to tell my boyfriend. I hadn't told him any of this at all, I was too embarrassed. Him and I are very close and talk about everything but this was a very tough subject for me. I called him when I left the doctor and to my surprise he was VERY understanding. Mind you that of all the things he's understanding about, I thought this was going to be the end. He actually referred to it as 'it's like me giving you a cold' K not quite, but it isn't the end of the world... like I thought. I'm doing treatment right now and my doctor says that more than likely they will never come back, but there's no way to tell. All I'm saying is that if you're as mortified as I was, go see a doctor. If you don't have insurance, go to planned parenthood. Don't live your life being depressed and sick to your stomach all the time like I was. I'm still shocked, and it does really suck but I feel so much better now that I know what's going on with my body. You will, too.

I also have these bumps. I had never had a reason to look that close at my vagina before I was about 22. In a serious relationship I started shaving and noticed these bumps. Naturally, at first I thought that I just had razor burn or something, but they didn't go away. I freaked out and thought for sure that I had an std. I did seek SEVERAL opinions from 5 different gyno's! LOL I was poked, proded, sliced, and tested for everything!!! Every doctor said the same thing,....you're normal!! I didn't have any type of detectable disease or infections! I am 28 now and have been through a pregnancy, which can sometimes cause skin diseases to flair up and get worse or go into remission,....nothing has changed. My husband of 6 years has never developed any bumps or anything, so it doesn't seem to be contagious! I am very curious, like everyone else, as to what causes this, but I don't worry anymore and if you have been tested you shouldn't either! I also think it's normal to be self-conscious about these bumps, but my husband doesn't even notice them.....they're men,...they don't care! ; )

Ok I have these white bumps between the clitoris and hair region (I guess that's the labia majora).... :$ I have a lot of them and some appear in lines. I was wondering what normal skin looks like there. You can see the bumps without really pulling the skin tight but when I do it looks like an area of white oil or something under the skin. The skin doesn't feel rough. I need some advice about this because if may be a little bit til I can see a doc and the last time I did I'm not sure if she looked in that area but her nurse said she did and thought it was normal skin. Any help or information would be appreciated. Also if some of the people who posted before could describe their bumps a bit more that might help...

I have them too and have had them for as long as I know and I'm only 16. I'm not sexually active and they don't hurt or itch. So, I doubt their HPV. It's stupid that the Gynos are being so unhelpful or reasurring to everybody. Even though I don't think its anything to worry about everybody should still get checked regularly. Just in case - you neve know and it just makes you crazy until you do.

If they are very small spots like pinheads they could be fordyce spots, they are very common in both men and women and other than looking a little unsightly they are nothing to worry about. If they are not inside your inner labia but only the skin around your vulva it could be hair follicles. I have a lot of little white dots exact the same size above my clitoris, when i first noticed i thought it was just from shaving so didnt shave for a while to see they didnt go away and i got freaked. Went to the docs for a check up and she said i looked perfectly normal and that those bumps where natural. I also have a row of little white bumps along my inner labia they are quite hard to see unless the skin is stretched and i expressed my concern for these (thinking i might have genital warts) They dont change or itch and dont come and go they are just there. I was told these are also pretty normal and if things dont change down there or get bigger then its nothing to really worry about the name for them is fordyce spots, they are very common in both men and women and other than looking a little unsightly they are nothing to worry about you also can get them on your lips.
If you are really concerned you should go to your doctors for a STI check. This is something you should do every so often regardless of if you find something. You should also get regular pap smears. Dont put these things off because you are embarrassed about it!!!

You can look up pics of these things or read more about it on wiki. I hope this helped

I have a cluster of bumps, but only on one side of the inside of the labia. Mine are not asymptomatic. They burn like crazy. I'm sitting on cotton saturated with aloe vera gel. I think allopathic (Western) doctors are just about useless. I'm going to try and see my naturopath tomorrow. I'll report what I learn. By the way, I'm 66 . . .

I have the clusters of white raised bumps as well noticed them when i was 14 im 25 now, they never went away and they have always worried me but the thing thats different is sometimes they will get bigger and turn into abscesses that are actually very painful,i had just had a pap smear and no yeast infection was found or anything like that but im still curious what they are. I do remember a nurse at the hospital said that i seriously need to talk to a doctor because she had taken very close and enlarged pictures of my vulva and labia and they stuck out like a sore thumb. for the most part they do not hurt unless they turn into an abscess.. but although they dont hurt for the most part it still freaks me out.. it almost looks like bunched up fat cells if ya think about it but i know its not that.. i do have to get a colposcopy done so maybe i could ask the doctor about the bumps as well and see if its possibly related... but if anyone else could give me any answers i would greatly appreciate it a great deal... and yes i have had these bumps way before i had become sexually active

Hi ladies! I've not been to the gyno yet, but I've had this white bumps since I was about 13, now 20. My elder sister helped me do some research, and I think we may have found a possible title to these symptoms- Pearly Papules. They are a completely natural, harmless to us and our partners. Ask you gynos what they think, and do some research! let me know if this helps! Because I to still have no had a solid diagnosis for our symptom.
