Not every bump on your lip is a cold sore. Getting pimples on your lip is actually common, and CAN be triggered by chocolate, nuts, or stress.

Yeah, I almost have the same thing, but its smaller, and red-ish around it.. (But I am younger, So I know that it is most likely not a cold sore [Haven't Kissed anybody, or anything, besides the parents (of course)]) So what you have probably isn't Cold Sore either...

There's no question of if it's a cold sore or not. It's one of those things you know you have. That looks like a simple pimple and not a cold sore.
Cold sore's have a "life cycle" if you will. They begin with a feeling of irritation and a small, almost colorless, bump on your lip. As the cold sore develops, the bump will become bigger and more painful as it swells, but will never look like the head of a pimple. And, you should never, ever try to "pop" it by squeezing it, trying to get the liquid out. It will only cause you immense pain and delay the healing process. The surrounding area may turn red and on top of the cold sore will appear to be a white film. This film is very similar to the beginning of a scab. Just like you don't pick your scabs to allow the skin underneath to heal, you don't pick your cold sore. Eventually, the sore will become hard and brown, exactly like a scab.
If you have a condition where a pimple keeps growing back in the same spot, you probably just have an oily face or ingrown hairs. Regardless, it's not a cold sore.

I'm dealing with it right now and it's very frustrating. It looks like a pimple but it tingles and has numbed my whole upper left lip. It's also very swollen but how do i treat it? I mean i dont want to look like the freaking joker (heath ledger) while im at school....:/

It does seem to only be pimple, but they are usually more painful on the lip because the skin is more sensitive, and does not have the same elasticity as skin on other parts of your body. (just like getting them in your ear). Alot of smokers get them on the their lips because they tend to touch their fingers to their lips often, spreading oil from their hands to their face, in the lip region.

Could be male thrush. Looks just like one of the symptoms.

Sounds like herpes to me....don't go spreading that.

It's a pimple I get them all the time due to the fact that bacteria is on my flute. I get them around of my mouth the same areas where my flute moutpiece would be. I usually get them a day after a band rehearsal too.

Actually, Chocolate and Nuts are high in L-Arginine (an Amino acid) which can trigger a cold sores if you already have the herpes virus. You can counter this reaction by taking enough L-Lysine to counter the L-Arginine intake.
