About 6 weeks ago I was scared that I had herpes. I noticed a small oblong shaped red area of skin near the left side of the opening of my vagina. It wasn't that painful but did sting a bit. I have been getting sick a lot this year with tonsillitis and other throat and viral infections and around the same time of my scare I had the flu, I didn't know if this was just a coincidence or something more serious, but I realised that this was a symptom of herpes and got tested right away. I went to the doctor, almost positive that I had it, and the results came back negative for every STD including herpes. I had a swab test on the area and a blood test and urine test for all STD's. I have had two sexual partners, the first lost his virginity to me and mine to him and the second had 2 previous partners, the first of which had only slept with him, and the second was a one night stand. I never experienced any vaginal issues before I slept with this second guy, and it was two days after I slept with him for the 3rd time that I noticed these changes. I had slept with him multiple times before noticing anything in myself, and I never noticed anything on him either. I know he has been checked for STD's which came back negative as well. Any way, after being very worried about herpes I got tested and was massively relieved when the results came back negative. For about three weeks I was completely fine, however about two weeks ago I felt a much milder stinging pain and checked it out. I noticed the same kind of thing, in the same place but on the right side of my vaginal opening. It didn't hurt at all, I wasn't sick and I feel quite sure that it isn't herpes. I didn't have a chance to go to the doctor, however I am going to go this week just to make sure. Now there is nothing near my vagina, except the skin is a little bit red and looks almost slightly raw, however it is not raw. I also noticed a small lump underneath the skin that felt almost like a bruise to touch near my anus. It went down in a matter of days and did not not tingle, blister, scab or crust over. I am feeling really worried and exhausted with having to think about this all the time. My sexual history doesn't add up for me to think it is an STD as my first we lost our virginities to each other, (including oral sex), and the second tested negatively for STD's. I discovered a condition called vulvovaginitis and was wondering whether it could be this as the symptoms are quite similar. Anyway I'm going crazy with anxiety about this, and am going to go to the doctor, but if anyone has an idea of what it could be in the meantime please let me know! Thanks!
