Hi,
Nostril blocked (mostly one)
Cannot breathe fully
Chest pain dull (some palpitation, not often)
Left side neck some dull pain (over exertion from breathing?)
It started with a stuffy nose one evening when I was out the last week of May... particularly one nostril .. I didnt think much of it.. then, it started affecting my breathing a few days later.. I thought it was just some allergy and I let it be.. On and off it bothered me over the next few weeks.. finally I saw the doctor and he gave me nasal spray (nasonex) to clear the blockage.. after which he started me on some steroids as he suspected it might be inflammation... So it has been almost 8 weeks and I am not better.. Finished the course of steroids and have taken more medicine than i have in a long time.. I couldnt sleep last night keep feeling a heavy feeling on my chest.. its not what you would consider the kind of pain associated with heart attack but just a tightness of sorts.. I force yawn to breathe sometimes.. and this is really affecting my day... I have always had an abnormal ECG reading (the very first time was almost 10 years ago.. didnt reveal much even with a CT Scan which i had done two years ago.... No real blockage of arteries.. My cholesterol level is eleavated total of 239.. I was asked to start on medication but am still trying to bring it down the natural way.. have been succeeding very slowly i think.. Not sure if that is the cause... I love a cigarette or two and used to smoke about 5-6 sticks a day.. smoker for about 20 years... since this episode, I don't even have the urge to light up (that's how bad it is)..
My GP listened to my breathing and says my lungs are all clear.. In fact he suggested it could stress but wants me to do another heart check to ensure my condition has not worsened..
Anybody can shed some light? I have had nose congestion before but that used to be with a cold.. this time, i dont have a fever, very little phlegm (some post nasal), no cough at all.. I do feel a strain in the left side of my neck recently but my GP checked and couldnt find anything amiss there either...
Hope someone can shed some light?
