I have worked out over the years what upsets it most, here are the things to avoid I hope if you follow it and stick to it you will find improvement.
COFFEE =None nothing nudda don't even have a little! not only does it stain your teeth, it dehydrates you irritates the oesophagus, makes you light headed and your heart race which amplifies the anxiety you might have already from the symptoms and makes it harder to get sleep can also make you sweat during sleep and you are more likely to have racing thoughts and or bad dreams especially if you have lots of sugar in the coffee.
SUGAR =also irritates the stomach , too much is not good same as above I avoid this, instead substitute sugar for honey if you can.
SMOKING =If you smoke especially if you smoke hemp or both then there is really one thing to do ...STOP! this will make living with reflux a nightmare you will never get better if you don't quit those things. they will counteract the reflux medicine which is designed to reduce the amount of acid in your stomach it can't stop the irritations and damage to the oesophagus caused by smoking.
CITRUS = Avoid any citrus if you have reflux you don't need extra acid when you are already producing excess from reflux.
There is more vitamin C in green leafy vegetables.
MILK= DO NOT DRINK THIS IT IS MEANT FOR BABY COWS NOT PEOPLE! milk might seem like a soothing fix to reflux but believe me it is not , it will process in your stomach and turn into an acid nightmare milk fat is also the hardest fat for the body to burn and can store for a very long time. there is far better substitutes for calcium than milk such as green vegetables that are meant for people.......and baby cows :-)
THINGS TO EAT THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR QUALITY OF LIFE AND MAKE LIVING WITH REFLUX EASIER.
FLUIDS>
1 water drink plenty each day.
2 celery this is your friend as with all alcaline foods that counter acid. make it into juice or eat it fresh.
3 green vegetables brocoli ,spinich ,beans, peas, lettuce, cumcumber all good ,if you get bloating go for the leafy types instead.
4 avoid heavy meats like steak and chops they are tough to digest and your stomach will find it hard when you are on acid reducing medicines such as nexium. try eating low fat mince sliced meats instead , chicken . and especially fish.. I can't stress enough how wonderful fish can be it is a great food source and very light low fat and easy to digest being that it is a very soft flesh.
EXCERCISE just a little each day nothing too strenous but get that body moving it helps your digestion alot even a short walk after a meal can help alot.
AVOID Asprin and other medications that are not gentle to teh stomach.
DEVOTE !) MINS OF YOUR DAY TO COMPLETE RELAXATION LIKE MEDITATION IT IS VERY GOOD FOR THE MIND AND BODY AND ALSO AIDS IN DIGESTION DUE TO TEH CALMNESS YOU FEEL
I DON'T SUGGEST TAKING HERBAL MEDICATIONS FOR EVERYTHING TOO MUCH IS NOT GOOD FOR YOUR ORGANS.
If you stick to this for 3 months please come back and let me know how your doing? I hope it will help.

hey everyone ,i have read most of ur blogs, and i too had similar symptoms.a feeling like there was a lump in my throat, gerd that only seem to get better after i slept.also that hunger feeling when i know i was full.and worst of all my mind would make me believe that everything in my stomach was bad.by that i mean i would be full and i would think that the full feeling was unhealthy.I tried everything and anything.like yall i went to the doc first and all test came back normal.they gave me those acid surpressing pills.that stopped the acid but they made my stomach feel strange.i researched online and gathered information about the stomach and what natural way to treat the acid reflux.i was 22at the time and i went two years with this problem.to make a long story shot. i did get rid of the acid reflux, and was back to my normal self again, but it took time and patients.here is what i did,I stopped taking the pill, because i learnt that ur stomach needs acid in other for it to function properly,if there is no acid then it can't fight bacteria.i also read and i did experience it also that when u stop taking those acid surpressing pills the acid reflux comes back worst, which then burns the lining of ur stomach that can cause esophagus cancer......scarey isn't it. i am 26 now and have been acid free for three years.here is what i did.first you need to go to ur nearest supermarket and purchase honey....pure honey that is.then u also will need a intestinal parasite drug, Zentel would be best, pill or liquid form does the same.ok basically what i will help you do is to reboot your system. The zentel is just incase you have parasites.the honey will coat the lining of your stomach.and in time u will be acid free.aslo if u have gerd at night times you will have to raise the head of your bed buy adding more pillows,or by putting something under the first two legs of ur bed.please remember you have to be patient in order for this to work.oh i forgot to mention,u also need castor to act as a purging agent. So lets start,First take the zantel a day before.and then you take the castor oil and u take four table spoonfuls of it. u have to be sure that its not a working day, when u take the castor oil, you need three days for this procedure.be sure that you only drink purified water through out the entire day, and if u feel for food eat light, only soup is required.after u ingest the castor oil ,its u and the bathroom the entire day.but thats ok. ur curing your self. Now its time for the honey and ur diet.the honey will also help build ur esophageal sphincter back to the way it was, cause it actually the sphincter thats gets weak thats the reason for ur acid getting into your throat.so now youve gone though the frequent toilet visit and its the next day.you need to take a tablespoon of honey first thing in the morning when you get up.also one after ur lunch, which shouldn't be much food .u have to introduce light foods to the body cause it has been rebooted and will only act to what food you feed it so it gets accustom.by eating lightly i mean you can have more soup and then the following day eat a little heavier.after eating be sure only to drink one glass of water directly after eating. don't take in no fatty foods or acidic foods for now,you will get your chance later.after two to three hours after ur glass of water u can consume as much water as you want.just be sure you don't drink loads of it after uve just eaten.repeat this procedure for like two weeks.yeah you might loose some weight.but isn't that a good thing.you can eat normaly after the two weeks but keep in mind no consumption of fatty foods.you can do without it for a month right.yes you can you will be cured for the rest of your life.ok remember its honey in the morning ,honey before lunch and honey before you go to bed. keep me posted or add me on messenger anyone who wants help...***this post is edited by moderator *** *** private e-mails not allowed **

since ive been in middle school i have been getting dibilatating stomach cramps all over, it felt as if someone was taking my innerds in my entire stomach area and clenching them with all their might then twisting till they almost break but also be pulling them out of me as if they were super glued. yea not fun. along with this would come indegestion, gas, bloating, diarrhea, and constipation. it got so bad i missed over 60 days of school in freshman sophmore and into my junior year. it got so bad that i was pulled out in junior year and transferred online. they got better and we figured that most of the problem was stress. about a year ago a aquantence of mine told me about polycystic ovarian syndrome.
basically its where your ovaries arent working like they should and they create cysts that line the walls. and since people with this dont menstraute properly your unused undesposed eggs turn into these cysts. then te cysts burst and omg watch out. it is sad to be worse than child birth.
now about 4 month ago i started developing chest pains, they got so bad that i visited the er 6 times within 2 weeks. had 5 ekg's done in that time, 3 chest x-rays, and a throat scan done. it was bad. they said it was all in my head, except one of the trips where they didnt and told me esophegal reflux and gave me some ranitidine for the acid. took it for 2 months worked okay still had chest pains.
and now here i am typing this out as the very middle of my chest hurts and feels tight, and then will go slightly off to the right of the middle of my chest then switch and go slightly to the left and feel like its connected to my heart. but also im having pain that shoots straight through to the middle of my back right in between my shoulder blades as if i was speared and it was left there. back of my throat hurts too. if anyone knows what this might be let me know as i have wasted countless hours and amount of dollars just to be told "it is all in my head" i also still have excrusiating pain in my stomach to this day and have missed periods. (once every 3-7 months and maybe lasting 1 day to 2 months)
i am thinking maybe something is wrong with the gall bladder, but i havent the slightest clue.

I have the exact symptoms. I have a cold/burning pain in my throat that goes up through the middle of my head. Behind my eyes and in my ears I am hot. My eyes are dry and I get dehydrated. I drink a miniumum of 48oz of water daily. The only time I get releif is when I lay down and then it takes several hours for the pain to subside. All of my bloodwork is normal. I did have a non funtioning gallbladder. My internist and surgeon agreed that it needed to be removed. That surgery was 2 weeks ago and my pain has not gone away. When I eat it gets worse. My CT scan of my sinuses was clear. The only thing that has helped the pain is a mixture my ENT prescribed which has lidocain in it to numb my throat. I take it several times a day.
Have you found anything to make your pain go away?

Was referred to a gastro specialist, he said "garden variety indigestion and heartburn". He explained the throat pain is due to irritation from stomach acid, it can inflame right up to the jawline. I also had symptoms of minor irritable bowel syndrome - this may account for the more unusual pains and cramps.
I went on a holiday at this point and had a relaxing 9 days away snowboarding in beautiful scenery, the trip had been planned for a long time so it really felt like a great break from normal working life. I dont think i was stressed, money has been an issue lately but this all started the day after i scored a 12% pay rise! in any case during the holiday things really settled down. I went back to 20mg omeprazole. I'm still on it for a few more weeks, but most of my symptoms are gone, I feel really good. Acid reflux isn't really something to worry about, it just needs management
A few things i did that really helped:
- stop smoking (i smoked help but began eating instead)
- no coffee
- no soft drink (nothing fizzy at all)
- no eating late at night
- avoid really fatty foods
- gaviscon will stop heartburn when you need it
