I feel like im going crazy cause so many people think its in my head! my doctor even put me on and anti-depresant to calm my so called anxiety. which did nothing except make be brain dead while i was shiting. theres no feeling like being a zombie, ugh!.
Ive had every available test done and all my doctors just shake there heads, and tell me their sorry. I nearly cryed when i read your story, and all the comments. IM NOT ALONE! AND YOUR NOT ALONE!! and from the sounds of it, we cant all be crazy.
P.S. Did anyone else laugh at the so called "Strawberry Flavor" of the Barrium? YUCK! Ive had it up both ends now, and i would much rather take in the butt twice then have to taste that again! :p

I hate to say this, but anxiety is a huge factor with IBS. I have been living with IBS and Acid Reflux Disease since I was 9 yrs old and what I have begun to realize (after having this disease for 15 years) is that controling the way you react to your sickness can really impact the symptoms. If I'm having a really bad day, I need to let go of trying to control the symptoms and focusing on other things in life. I call my down days a "spell" since they come in waves sometimes. I know it sounds easier said than done, and I still battle with my problems but eventually, you have to accept what you have and try to make the best of it. Understand that you are different and may not be able to live the life like you see others do but don't let that stop you from still living.
Some things that help my nausea is Ginger Tea/Peppermints (although accoding to my doctor, peppermints can relax your esphagous muscles possibly causing some of the acid that is not settled by the peppermint oil to come up). I also take Zantac 150 as needed to relieve he pressure and bloating.
Avoid anything with carbonation and caffeine and trying to find your "trigger foods".
Outside of that, find a support group/counselor who will help you control your anxiety and teach you stress management techniques that will hopefully help with your symptom management. It takes time to control your symptoms. Try to keep your head up.
